How do you look so good?

I have really dry skin.  Plus, my feet are very delicate.  I don’t mean they are delicate in bone structure; although, they are small, but if I don’t take care of my feet, they get all hard and callousy.  Before I lost weight, my heels would crack and bleed and I would have to tape them because once they cracked they hurt like hell. So, when the weight started peeling off, I realized that I need to remove all those old dry and calloused areas.  I started doing foot treatments about twice a week.  On the night of the foot treatments, I take a really hot bath with a lot of soothing oils in the tub.  I soak for quiet awhile.  Then, I use a really rough file and the pediegg and take off all the dead skin.  I become obsessed with getting rid of all that old skin.  After I am satisfied that I have removed enough of the old skin, I lather my feet and toes with tons of cocoa butter and put heavy socks on and leave them on all night.  After my morning shower, by the way, I am extremely careful to not slide down, I put a light layer of sweet pea bath and body lotion.  I must tell you that this treatment keeps my feet so soft.  I also do a salt treatment on my elbows.  I now have the boniest elbows in the world and lotion alone will not get rid of the dry skin so on the same nights that I do my feet treatments, I scrub my elbows with dead sea salts or kosher if I’m out of dead sea salts. Afterwards, I gently massage cocoa butter into the elbows.  In between the exfoliating, I just use really good lotion.  So, why am I telling you all of my deep dark beauty secrets?  Well, I am just curious what you guys do for your problem areas.

This is so deep girl. If you were on a fetish site, you'd have pervs tracking you down,LOL.
I get a pedicure every two weeks,I do not get my nails done anymore...budget cuts!
I do use the salts, and they use them at my salon, along with a wonderful leg massage.
I use a stone on the rough spots. I have soft skin, and my daughter has issues with me that I do not have to shave my legs.
I adore shea butter,that's all I got....grin!

What's with our daughters?  My daughter cannot stand it that I don't have to shave my legs either or that I don't have hair that grows on my arms. Maybe once in a blue moon, I will shave my legs but only because I might see  hair.  When I was a kid, I was embarrassed about the no leg hair because I didn't have any hair to shave. I use cocoa butter and swear by it.  My daughter put it on her belly when she was pregnant and no stretch marks.

I use lotion on my feet...and at times I use baby oil gel on the tops. I find that I get really dry skin by my toes the worst. I use my handy dandy pedegg too...what did we do before they made those little suckers? My feet aren't near as dry as they use to be. I use the baby oil gel on my elbows too and that keeps the roughness away. I really like that stuff a lot. That is all I do....and by the way...I really hate feet with a passion. I think they are so ugly. I remember when I broke my foot several years ago and the ortho would take my foot in his lap and while he talked to me he would pet my foot. But he was the nicest doctor...just kind of weird to me. But then again I guess you would have to like feet to be a ortho doctor.

Sounds like he was a little too nice.  I had a doctor who held my foot in his hands and examined it while he talked to me and I thought that was uncomfortable.  I think feet are like hands, we don't want people touching them unless...

My husband has really ugly feet and his toes are long and crooked and hairy.  The grands are always teasing him about his crooked toes walking a crooked mile. LOL

OMG- you and Cee reminded me of a visit to a cardiologist about 20 years ago- he examined my breasts and I was so creeped out that I dropped him like a hot potato. I told him I had a gynecologist that handled my breasts just fine!

Years ago, I went to see my pcp and he was a guy who I worked with and he asked me out.  Needless to say, I changed doctors.

A bit OT here, but your foot dr. story reminds me of a friend who asked me if my dr. ever listened to my heart with his ear? WHAT? Ummm, no? I told her get a new doc.
OK, back to feet.....

Dry skin bugs me so my house is filled with all sorts of lotions and potions. Floral scents are my favorite but the fruity ones are a no-no, especially coconut.Skunk

While still in the shower I spritz Avon Skin so Soft Bath oil all over the wet body. After drying I apply lotion from head to toe and do the same during the day. At bed time I do the lotion thingy again.

Yesterday I bought some lotion with a hint of gold glitter, I liked the scent. This morning the sheets, the cats and Tom are rather sparkly - oopsy.Glitter Kitty

I love the smell of skin so soft but it breaks me out something terrible.  I bet the golden sheets, cat, and hubby were too cute.  My kitty likes the cocoa butter and tries to taste it.  My office mates, all guys, are always sneaking over and borrowing my lotion.  They act all manly about it and say things like, I have a really chapped arm or hand or whatever.  For Christmas I bought them man products from bath and body and they all got addicted. LOL  Men need that special attention too.
