Since wls, I do have dry skin.  When I was younger, I was more oily and didn't really have to moisturize but age and weightloss have made a huge difference in my skin.

I absolutely do the pedicure thing- I go about once a month in the summer. My biggest foot "problem" is huge bunions on both feet. Since WLS my feet have become narrow enough to not wear a "Wide" 11..... but the bunions will keep me in the Wide I'm afraid. They don't hurt for the most part, but they do get red sometimes. I have lots of lotions but I rarely use them. My skin is just not dry at all. Oh, when I was heavier my foot doctor used to sand my calluses for me with a "Dremel" tool. I bought one to use, but I was always afraid to do it- it's still sitting in the garage.

I'm like you with being careful about removing too much skin off of the feet.  I have nerve damage to my feet and legs from my back injury, so I have to be careful and not injure myself.

My cousin had very large bunions on her big toe and the top part of her foot and the doctor finally had to remove them.  She says it was the best thing she ever did.  Now she shows those feet off. LOL.  Her bunions came up when we were kids and she hid her feet for fear of being teased.
