The Fourth

Jeannie:

I think we all have those chair stories. I wouldn't even sit in certain lawn chairs for fear of breaking them. I'd look at the chair and think, is this sturdy enough for me? Now I don't have to think about that. The only thing I think about is if it's too low (because of my knee) and if I can get up out of it easily. But it has nothing to do with weight, just my knee.

I have one chair story, too ... my friend Rox and I were staying at this bed and breakfast in Victoria. Cute little place with antique furniture, owned by a British couple. The guy was a comedian who we met at breakfast the second morning of our stay. As we were sitting there at the table on the delicate antique chairs, he looked me up and down and said, "I don't know if you should be sitting on those chairs; you could break them as heavy as you are." What a nice host he was! His wife glared at him. I, of course, stood up and asked if they had a different chair if they were so concerned. His wife said, no, that chair was just fine, it was very sturdy. She took him into the kitchen and talked with him; he never said another word about my weight. I think he thought he was being funny. I sure didn't think it was funny. I brought it up to Rox later and she said, "What did you expect? You are fat." Thanks, Rox. She always was blunt.

Oh my.  I had a doctor tell me that my knees were just to fat for him to even begin to find a place to inject them.  He was so disgusted that while he was trying to find boney landmarks, he had this awful disgusted face.  I, through tears, said, don't inject it.  I'll find a doctor *****ally knows anatomy. LOL

Oh, Jeannie, what an SOB. I am so glad you had such a good comeback. I have to say that really hurt my heart for you. What a jerk! He prob suffers from TPPS (tiny pee pee syndrome) and I didn't name the real anatomy part because I'm sure he didn't have a real one. Sorry if I have offended any one, I just couldn't help it.

Oh yeah.  I'm sure he had some kind of issues.  He kept saying that my knee needed replacement but he wouldn't even consider it with me being so fat.  He was a jerk and I did leave hostile like, reported him to our insurance as being so rude and sociably unacceptable.  In fact, I said, he was a rude, crude, sociably unaccetable dick. Yes I did.

Oh, geeze, Eileen. That was so very unkind of both of them. I'm all for honesty and not beating around the bush, but do people have to be unkind? If he was worried about the freaking chair he could have said it in a nicer way, I'm sure it would of still been embarrassing but at least you would of known the guy was trying to be kind. I'm sorry that happened to you.
