I debated whether to wait 14 minutes or post now.... lol guess which won out....
What a wonderful nation we are a part of.
The Fourth of July should also be our Thanksgiving Day.... How fortunate we are to have such a great country to live in.
Not only do we have a fantastic government ( I didn't say perfect ) but a land that is beautiful and full of wonder. Many wonderful national parks and truly amazing features including our cities.
I don't ever want to forget what a well lived life I've had. I do feel privileged to be an American and at times I know I'm very spoiled with the lifestyle I live.
I hope everyone takes a moment to be thankful for what we have as Americans. If you are truly thankful, remember to thank a veteran.

Good morning all. Decided to write in Air Force blue today.
Happy Fourth all. This IS a wonderful country.
Today, I will start the day getting some sleep. Then I will work on my office. Got most of my desk cleaned off. I just want to get it out and the new one in. Even if I just put the computer on the desk, at least it is a start.
We are going to the Rangers game today. Lots of special events. They have some guys enlisting in the Air Force. There will be a flyover of four F-16s. That will be special to me. I did 20 years in the Air Force, three of them were typing flight plans for F-16s in Europe. Then there will be the reading of Lou Gehrig's "Luckiest Man" speech. The Rangers will be wearing special caps, with a stars and stripes theme. And hopefully, they will send me home with a smile on my face.
We will leave before the fireworks. Mary can not handle them. When she was in 8th grade, she went to a big fireworks display in Spain. The fireworks had gotten wet the night before. Their safety in Europe is not on a par with ours. The fireworks were wet and did not shoot as high as they should. Most of them exploded in the crowd. Mary has a couple of scars on her face from it. So her fear is understandable. She has tried to see fireworks a couple of times since we have been married. The tension was unbearable for her and her tension scared me.
Everyone have a good day. Barbeque well. If you are setting off fireworks, please be careful. Eat healthy. Celebrate the birth of this fine country.

Happy Birthday America! What a glorious day it is looking to be today!
For a weekend that I had made no plans it is shaping up to be very busy, yesterday I went shopping for a new bathing suit, so I tried on at least 8 bathing suits before I settled on two of them and the sight of me in them, well, it is what it is and once I get more tan, I will be ok with it, I still look a whole lot better than I did two summers ago and my suits were size 14s, instead of 3X (22/24). I also managed to buy, a pair of jeans, size 10 that fit me beautifully, but they are Ralph Lauren jeans and for some reason RL's are made roomier than any other brand, all my other jeans and pants are 12s, but hey, I am thrilled to be there and if I can ever see my way to plastics I know without my belly skin, I would be a size 10 and possibly even an 8. . . it's not my size that matters, but truly how wonderful I feel these days, life has become a wonderful adventure daily. . . after the shopping expedition I went and hung at my friend's pool.
Today I am off to visit my son's shore house that he has been renovating since April, courtesy of two years in Germany and watching HGTV on slingbox while he was living there, so I am excited to be going to see the work he has so proudly put into it, though he is not done yet and I am going to hang with the wee ones and make sand castles, after which I was invited to a bbq that I may or may not stop in at on my way home, where tonight I will make my Woman's AA group, that I haven't been to in a while because of dating, but since I got dumped by guy number 2 last week, I have tonight free (lol). . . tomorrow Tony, guy number 1, is coming down for the day and we are going to hang out poolside at my g/f's house. . . no cleaning or doing anything of that sort this weekend, the fur bunnies will be there for another day. . .

I do love this country of ours. I believe there is a lot wrong with the country but there is a lot more right here than in all the other countries!! I don't know if that makes sense but it does to me.
I have often wondered, could our founding fathers understand our country today? The massive debt, What they would probably consider a lot of immorality ie non marriages abortion homosexuality? Could the brave men who fought then understand the hate that caused 9-11?
Just a thought wondering what they would be thinking if they came back to visit today.234 years later.
Our plans for the day changed an hr ago since a social worker brought us 5 kids, Now we are thinking park for a picnic maybe some small lake fishing here fire works and such. No big crowds though I cant handle crowds.

I am usually not a poop stirrer, but not sure if you are stating "a lot of immorality ie non marriages abortion homosexuality?" as facts that all consider "immoral" or that you consider "immoral" or that they may consider "immoral." Cuz if you are........please don't assume everyone here considers those things as "immoral." Some, I'm sure do but don't assume all do. I don't get riled easily and when I do, I usually keep it to myself...so ya gotta know what you said, I found offensive and had to comment. If I misunderstood, I apologize, if not....again, please don't assume.
