Hi Penny, Welcome to the OFF. I love your name. My dad was a "Lucky Penny" picker upper! I can't pass one without picking it up too and see it as a kiss from my dad!

Thank you; not too many people have the name Penny. When I was a child I received a lot of teasing about my name. How touching that you have such a special memory of your Dad. My Dad died when I was 16. Your story makes me remember too.

Aloha Penny.......I am an OFF sister in Hawaii and I LOVE this group of women (and a couple great men).

I don't know anything about your condition.....stage 3 kidney disease....but I do know that this surgery has given back good health to many people who had life threatening high cholesterol, diabetes, bone problems, sleep apnea, etc. So, I would not be surprised if you would be helped as well.

Penny has special meaning to me, too.....because I bought a little car that is bright copper a couple of years ago and her name is "PENNY!" I always name my cars......I know, I know...a little nutty, but hey I'm a clinical psychologist and have to get crazy from time to time!!

Good luck to you!!

Aloha nui loa,

Hi Karen,
I had to chime in.........my parents name their cars too........they recently sold :Ginger", still have "Little Red" and just got "Big Red".   They crack me up with doing this.

Welcome Penny.

No kidney disease but plenty of other woes. Life improves after WLS.

Glad to meet you.

Hi Penny,
I'm new to this group too.......I've been posting on the Plastic Surgery for a few months but am so glad to find a group within my own age bracket.

I hope you get the approval so you can get the surgery you want.
Best wishes to you on your journey....

Hi Penny - that is my daughter's name.

As far as the kidney disease, I can not answer.  But I will agree with anyone who says healthwise you will be better off.  I put my wife's medications together daily.  Prior to her WLS, she was taking ten or eleven different prescription drugs, some as much as 3 or 4 times a day.  She is now down to 4 prescription meds (one being Allegra for her allergies) and each one is only taken at night.  Her daytime "meds" are her vitamins and supplements.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

hi penny! welcome a-board

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
