Linda,

I haven't been able to eat anything solid for 4-5 days now.  Before that, the extra veggies and fruits hadn't made any difference to my weight, but I definitely felt better, wasn't as hungry, and the potty issue was much improved!

We had a wonderful day yesterday.  Any day we celebrate this great country is wonderful.

Food was good too.  I'll probably pay for it today as I ate too many fresh raspberries.  Tis the season.

We had our single neighbor guy down for dinner.  The BBQ was good and we don't have a lot of left overs.

Ohhh,  the big deal...  my son came over and installed the bracket that holds the Flag.  It's so nice to fly the flag.

B  oatmeal w/cranberries
S  fresh raspberries
L  chili  cheese & onion
S  fresh berries
D  left overs
S  fresh berries

Have a wonderful day...   Millie

Millie,I am happy to hear your day went great. The highlight of my day was watching The Boston Pops playing, and stars like Neil Diamond leading the crowd in all the songs about our contry, the words were on a prompter so every one could sing!
Then they had the glorious fire works I miss, from back east!!
Have a great evening, and I hope the berries were not hard on you!

Howdy everyone.  Got my fill of sun, music, dancing yesterday.  Food was good.  I had:

B coffee, kashi, yogurt
L & S chicken thigh, bell pepper/ranch dressing/nectarine
Spiked my crystal lite with a little JD.  Hey it was a holiday.
D hamburger patty, more peppers and cherries
S SF ice cream cup

I got into a disagreement with my son yesterday and today I am sad.  Been dwelling on that but I'll get my head in the right place and send him some love.  I intend to get some housework done instead of soothing myself with too much food.

Another beautiful day in paradise,  CV Linda

Hiya CV,you are starting to do great with your food, and I do hope you do not sabatoge yourself. You have a great insight into what is going on and why, most excellent!
I do not think our grown children know how much it cuts to the quick when have disagreements with them!
You hang in there, you are a strong woman!

We had a good day with the M&M's. Matthew ate 6 meatballs, I thought he was going to explode. Melanie was in a snit and didn't want to eat because her Mom refused to let her keep a dead bug in the house. Tom said it was my fault for letting her pick it up in the first place. Then two of us were in a snit. Tom said Melanie tends to have my temperment - Mary agreed. As if that is such a bad thing?

This morning I went back to bed and took a 2 1/2 hour nap ... before noon. Now I'll be playing catch up all day to get in my water.

Food - something, just don't know what.

Kisses

Dearest Cheryl, one of the things I like about RNY is the malabsorption. I had someone tell me that when I was surgery searching, and she was thin already!
What she meant was if she ate a food like chips one day,or another fatty choice, our bodies do not take in all of the calories.
Each meal is a new beginning.
I honestly do not believe we are supposed to go through life ,without enjoying food again!!
I watch portions, but when I want to enjoy a food that I would not have everyday,I do!!
If I  think in my new way,not the old a mind screw,as I used to do with one of my many diets,I can move forward, this is the gift of the surgery also. I never feel that empty hole I could not fill before WLS. I can look at the food and evaluate my actions. If I want eat to stuff down emotions, and other crap it's a no no. If I want to enjoy some potato salad at a friends house that I have not in forever,I do!! I just do not eat the whole bowl, and I take none home, smile.

I did not have this surgery to never have any good feelings.
I think you are on track, you knew yesterday was going to be hard. Imagine how much harder it would be without your sheild, and us here circling the wagons here for you?? When we do a mind screw, our minds tell us,oh well you blew, may as well eat the whole whatever!!
We do not live this way anymore,at least some us don't and I hope you are one of us.
Huge Hugs,babygirl!

Exactly!!! what you said!
Except I don't think I malabsorb (sp) all that much at least fat and calorie wise. I could gain a ton in no time at all!
I think my body absorbs things really well, dang it! JK.
