Cheryl, you know what I learned in O.A.? That most of us think we are unique, smile. I am sure you know your body better than me for sure! Now if you say you can eat a huge bag of something and gain 5 pounds by the next day,I would say then you  really do not malasorb, but this surgery by nature does that. Maybe your doctor did not remove or section off as much intestine because you were a light weight...so I dunno..grin!
Now the 2nd concern is how long you indulge, and I hear ya about the portion thing, that is not always easy.
You are doing fine Cheryl, for you are honest with yourself.
Smile...

Hi Linda,

Naw, I don't think I'm unique at all, but I think you may have hit on something that is possibly true. I don't think my surgeon removed much in that way and I think it was because that was just how he did the surgery at that time...I remember asking once about that and his answer was that he did the less malasorbive (is that a word?) procedure. He is now doing the DS I think. He was only doing Lap Band and RNY when I worked with him.
How did you know I ate almost a whole  bag of something?  I gained 3 lbs after the 4th. Too many carbs that day. MANY.
I am a grazer. So have to really plan what I will eat and when.
If I follow the rules, everything works to a T. I just gotta follow the rules.

I will follow the rules today and eat what makes my whole body feel good, then that makes my mind feel good also.

I am more honest when I post.

Hugs, Linda Lou,
Cheryl

Good afternoon Linda and Friends.  Don't know what's up with my tummy.  If feels bloated and very uncomfortable.  Crackers, coffee, protein shakes, and cheese are about the only things going down without making Oscar grumble.

We're going on a late afternoon fishing trip - no we don't have our boat back yet.  It's been almost 3 months.  GRRR!  Our friend J has a boat and asked if we wanted to go.  Heck yes - it's going to be HOT as you know what.  90 degrees with heat index of 100.  I have lots of water and some protein shakes packed.  J loves when I bring a treat, so I made a pan of brownies and will bring some for him and George.  With my grumbly tummy it's best I don't eat any.  No potty on the boat!

B - protein shake before church
S - 1/2 a sausage biscuit (Oh, how I craved it.  Oscar had a different take on it.  He growled and fussed.  The other half got pitched.)
L - nothing yet probably cheese and 2 or 3 crackers
S - protein shake
D - cheese and crackers or a protein shake
S - who knows, we won't be back home until 8 or later tonight.

Hi sweet Angel,I am sorry to hear Oscar is acting up,do you have gas?Gas in the pouch sucks!
If I go a huge amount of time without any food in my pouch,Fangster,he fills with air and kicks my butt when I do eat.
Do you put milk in your protein drinks?  Does it give you any trouble? I guess Oscar did not want any greasy sausage,I am hoping you feel better soon!

Linda,

Can you hear the screeching of my heels digging in trying not to enter this room? Oh how I hate being honest about what I'm eating and even more writing it down or heaven forbid planning ahead of time what I will eat.

I'm recommiting. Today wasn't perfect but better. Tomorrow hopefully even more so. I've steered clear of this post. . . thought I might try to give it an honest try. I have a harder time being honest with myself than anyone else. Howevah, I know I'm among like minds here so here I am, on my knees, humiliated, humble, and hoping to find my way back to getting the scale to go in the right direction.

Didn't count calories today just tried for healthier eating:

B: Protein shake

Snack; finished shrimp salad from yesterday; about 1 cup

Lunch: tuna/mayo on 1/2 English muffin

Snack: banana

Dinner: cottage cheese, tomatos, pork loin chop, fresh corn.

Lots of decaf ice tea.

Sure hope the roof doesn't cave in. Everyone watch out! I WILL be back tomorrow!
