It is Sunday and is anyone out there.......
Have had my sink bath and removed the dressing on my incision....it's in such a hard place to get to on the back of my hip, but I managed to clean around it some and put on a new bandage (they ones they gave me at the hospital are not big enough, so ended up using two). It was
bleeding just a little right in the middle and it's way more than six
inches long -- closer to 9 I would say. Anyway I'm dressed all but
my sox which I have to call my neighbor to come and put on for me
as I can't bend over. Drinking a cup of decaf and checking internet.
Today I will try to rest more -- think I got a little over zealous yesterday, as I am having some soreness but not really pain.
Fireworks went on around here until the wee hours -- there were some really loud explosions that I know were not LEGAL fireworks.
Gonna go sit in the recliner now and have some breakfast soon....thank goodness for carb master yogurt!
Have a great Sunday -- the sun is shining here!
Pat R.
P.S. thanks to everyone for all their well wishes to my "I'm Home" post, you just can't imagine how much you all mean to me....when you live alone my friends on OFF are so special.

Done! Your Ticker:
We ran all day yesterday and the fireworks party, which began at 4:30, was a blast. The kids ran and ran. Down the end of the street where my friends live is a huge park, so I ended up taking my grands and a couple of other kids down to the park. The food was good, the company was good, and that night, right ater it got dark, they did an amazing firework display. My grandchildren and I had front and center seats. Even the baby sat still. Then, finally, it was over and granddad and I carried the worn out babies back to the car, said our good byes, and brought the kids home. Now, what I wanted to do was put them to bed, sand and all. But, they both end up in bed with me, so, I ran a bath of warm water and hosed them down to get the sand, the bug spray, the sun screen off and literally, the baby was falling asleep while I put her jammies on. We had a blast.
Today, is my grandson's birthday. Granddad and my daughter are running for birthday gifts while I prepare a huge feast. Mathew wants a new bike, one that goes varrom, so they are taking him over to the bike store to get the one he wants. This year the theme is spong bob so I am making a sponge bob cake. Hopefully, I will have quiet by this evening. LOL.
No biking nor walking, I'm doing too much chasing of the baby.
Hope you guys are not too tired from yesterday's festivities.

We had a great 4th. We, Brenda, Floyd, margo, Phyllis and I went to the cherry festival. We walked around downtown Traverse City, Then ventured off to the cherry festival. I will post pictures later.
Today my sister is comming up here. Should be fun.
We are going to the Leelanau Peninsula to walk around. it is a fishing town. Great picture taking area.
That is all for today.

Yesterday was a disaster in my kitchen. I have a new neighbor upstairs and I am not sure if he put garbage down the drain or the disposal...but it came up in my kitchen sink on Friday. Then the drain ran slow yesterday and then....yes! it stopped totally. Here I was cooking for the little get together with my sister and nothing is going down the drain. Then..it gets better yet...I walk out in the kitchen there in both my sinks is water almost to top in both of full of suds. I yell for Bill, he comes and says to call maintenance and he goes upstairs to tell him not to use his sink. Maintenance comes and works like 3 hours on it to no avail. The snake keep****ting something hard and it breaks the top off the snake. So tomorrow they are coming to cut a hole in my dining room wall and go in from there. The head of maintenance said that it has to be from something he put down wherever he put it down...my heavens...what does he cook? So needless to say I have dirty dishes sitting in my ittsy bittsy kitchen and can't use the sink or the dishwasher. Oh dear what a mess out there..
Nothing much happening here until later in the day. We are going to Shawn and Carol's for a cook out and to spend time with my grandbaby. Oh the wonderful time that is going to be. Any time with Kayden is a good time..even the not so good times are good times. ha ha I don't have to bring anything so that is good. I haven't got a kitchen to cook in anyway. ha ha
I went to bed early last night and kept falling asleep. I finally shut the television off at 12:30 and off to sleep I went. I woke up at 5 this morning and have been up since. I know that by tonight I am going to be very tired. I hate it when my schedule is off but sometimes this old body just won't co operate with me at all. I love being the age I am now but would love to have the flexibility that I had many years ago. I guess you can't have it all. I don't think I would like to go back to those days...unless I could change the things that I did...then it might be tempting.
I better get going. I am getting tired so I might go and take a snooze. That sounds good right about now. Have a great day and I am sending love and hugs to all of you along with prayers being said for everyone too. Take care and enjoy yourself....
Yesterday was a nice day. Tried to get my new desk in my office. It wouldn't fit, it was too big. Did not want to take it apart, so I put it in Mary's scrapbook room and took her desk. Got the credenza together, now I just have to get everything put up. And there is a lot of stuff.
Went to the Rangers game. What a night! The Rangers provided fireworks before the fireworks. 12-4 they won!! Still tied for first with the Angels.
Going to Sunday School at our old church this morning, then fellowship together at a Chinese restaurant. After that, may try to go to a Big and Tall store that I have a $25 gift card for. Then...... RANGERS baseball!!!!. After that, the work week begins.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
What a great July 4th we had!! LOTS of friends and neighbors at our son's house. Swimming, eating, karaoke, eating, hammershloggin, eating, fireworks, eating. From his front yard we can see the HUGE fireworks display at the local county park, for free! Also, neighbors had plenty of fireworks of their own. I got home about 10:30. Very late for me!
Our daughter and 2 grandkids are here til Wed. The grandson spends all his time down the street with his cousins. Thank heaven he is now old enough that they don't think he is a pain in the fanny!! The granddaughter spends nearly all her time texting her friends in OR. All the boys show up here when they are hungry. And my kitchen is open pretty much all the time. Not only my 3 grandsons, but usually at least 3 of their friends. I LOVE COOKING AND BAKING FOR HUNGRY KIDS!!! But by Thursday I'll be ready to relax!!
I have been eating pretty much non-stop!! My band is very looses since the last 7 pounds I lost. I have gained 3 pounds!! Yikes. While I am relaxing on Thursday I will be hopping back on my diet!!
Hope everyone has a fantabulous day!
Had a pretty nice day yesterday. We bathed the dogs in the tub and that is always fun. Now they are nice and shiny and soft.
Let's see...I got some hair color stuff the other day to make "highlights" and mostly I just lightened patches of hair as I am not very handy when it comes to operating a hand held mirror, a little stick with hair dye on it and looking in the over the sink mirror to apply this goo to. It's OK, but not what I was hoping for really. It's fun to have something a little different though.
Years ago, when Beth was in second grade, I dyed my hair auburn red. I have very dark brown/black hair. Anyway...I went to go pick her up from school, and you know how the moms and dads stand in the hallways waiting for the kids, then the kids all run out? Well, when she saw me, she screeched "MOMMY! What have you done to your hair!!????? and then she bawled her head off. All the head turns and stares were enough to make me NEVER do something like that again. She told me that she wanted some kind of spray to spray on her family so that they would stay the same when she was gone. OK, kid, I get it.....
We went to my sisters for BBQ with my parents. It gets harder each time we spend time with them which has be at least once a week lately. They are seeming so old and, I don't know, just hard...they drive which is just not good. Mom can't see, and she even says "oh, I can't see." If I say, well how are you driving then? she says, "oh, I can see for that." Then my dad, has had two knee surgeries, and both have made things so much worse that he can barely walk or get up and down from chairs...I don't see how he can operate the foot pedals. He does stay on back roads but still that offers little comfort....but all in all pretty nice day.
My food consumption has caused me to nearly have to start over on how well I had been doing...but I am not going to get all worked up about it. I will just do what I was doing.(before I was doing what I shouldn't have been doing.)
I have 2 days left of my mini vacation. POUT POUT.
We walked down to the Gonzaga campus and sat and watched the city fireworks last night. Very pretty.
Last night I saw again why my husband and I have some minor misunderstandings that really don't need to happen. He is hard of hearing. We were watching the Fireworks and he says, "Wonder how we ever started the tradition of fireworks to celebrate the birthday of our nation." I said, Yeah, I wonder, we even use fireworks to explain whether sex is good or not." He was quiet and didn't respond. I said "right?" He said "I have never heard that." I said "What? You have never heard the term 'We saw fireworks.' Or'there were fireworks' in reference to sex?" He was quiet. I said "Tom, where have you been? You have never heard, in your life, people or TV or movies showing fireworks to represent how things went in the bedroom?" He said, "Oh, yeah, I have heard that. I just never heard that we started using fireworks to celebrate the 4th of July because of sex." OMG! I said,"THAT"S NOT WHAT I SAID!!"
So anyway, we got that straightened out. I said "I wonder, what else you think I have said, that I haven't and just don't say anything." He just smiled. I'm not sure he heard me.
Gotta go get showered...

WOW you brought back memories: only once did I watch fireworks from behind Gonzaga. They were wonderful. One day I will make it to Riverfront Park when the 4th is going on.
I was dating (sort of) a guy who was a Viet Nam Vet. He kept comparing the fireworks to the 180 millimeter mortars he use to fire in Nam. He asked if I thought my Mom would mind if he spent the night at my house. Mom didn't live with me at the time. Of course, I thought he was "making his move" and thought what would my Mom have to do with it?
Well, come to find out the noise from the fireworks trigger flashbacks to Nam. He slept on the couch for several nights. He was afraid to be alone when he had flashbacks. Never did make a move ... LOL and now I'm glad he didn't.
Ahhhh the memories.... I love the Fourth
Millie
Thanks for the laugh for the day.......
