Good Monday morning to you, our little sweetie. I hope that your long holiday week end went well and you enjoyed the birth of our beloved U.S.A. I sure did and loved having Bill home for 3 days but now he goes back to work today and I am going to miss his so much.

Food was good yesterday. I got a fair amount of protein in. I have to go to the store to get the fruit for the shakes that you told me about. I hope to get there today. I want to get strawberries and peaches. The peaches sounds so good to me...

B: hamburger patty with cheese and bacon in it and added cheese
L: leftover piece of corn on the cob and blueberries
D: beef shish ka bob with onions, peppers and squash and 3t. of potato salad
S: popcorn

The pieces of beef in that shish ka bob was huge. I couldn't eat it all but ate most of it. And I think that today for breakfast I am going to have oatmeal with blueberries. Those little things are good......

Have a great day and know that I am sending you love and hugs and prayers are going up for you and yours. Know that you are so important to so many.....and I love you, dear one. I sure wish that we lived closer. Thank God for phones!

BTW...things went so good with Kayden yesterday. Thank God for Shawn...Carol didn't want me to have him...he is bringing the baby to me on Thursday and Saturday..she is going to Great America Thursday through Saturday...and she had a fit! Don't know what her problem is but I think a lot of it is Shawn's mom's family...they can't stand me or Bill either for that matter. Oh well....we are here and Kayden's grandparents too. :-)

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Dear Brenda, you know I am not a traditional Christian, and you love and accept me as I am. One of the things I believe in is Karma, and I believe Carol should watch it. When one gives hate in a loving situation, they are hurting only themselves. Kayden is so pure, and radiates only good,I am sorry she is small minded. A child can never have too much love.
As for Carol, when we forgive someone,it is for our own good. In that vein,I am so proud of you,for not reacting to her negativity.
You are also handling the food very well, taking care of yourself.
Bravo Brenda!!

Brenda,
I second what everyone else said re: baby and mom.
AND...when that baby is a crawling or a toddling, mama is going to BEG you to watch him...hold him and take care of him...she's a dope if she doesn't' know that already...she best be good to you...she is going to need you again very, very soon and very, very much!
Hugs to you grandma,
Cheryl

Morning Linda,

Today is my last day off, I am planning on eating my 6 smallish meals, 3 main meals with 2 snacks, sometimes 3 snacks. Protein first. Protein first. That is really the main key for me. Fills me up and I can't squeeze any of the nasty carbs in. I eat cherries and watermelon right now and those really fill me up and help curb me away from the white carbs. The scale also moves in a downward fashion when I include those fresh fruits.
Yesterday, was better, but there were some chips left over and in the afternoon I handed them to Tom and said "take these please." He threw them away. Whew....

Take Care, your oranges sound so good, and I eat cottage cheese every day. Yum.

Hello sweet Cheryl, indeed, protein is the key for ALL of us!! Olivia is starting to rein herself in with the food, she has been indulging in bad eating, and me,sitting right here for her. She periodically asks me questions.I answer, but mostly,I stay out of plate. She craving something sweet a few days ago. I told her there was barbqued chicken in the fridge,I then sliced her up an orange, into smiley faces (and you are so right, fruit makes the body happy, and flowing). Well,by the time she ate that, her cravings were gone and there was no room left anymore...smile.
To stay totally on protein is never what my NUT wanted, she and my surgeon took me off drinks so fast!! She said she wanted me to get used to eating,it seems some people, according to her, wait too long, and can not get used to food and its different textures.
Cheryl everyday, every meal,we make a decision whether we are going to really love ourselves.
I swear by the smaller portions and eating 5 or 6 meals, why would I not eat as I was taught in my new life by my professionals. If it works, don't fix it...smile.Just protein constipates me,and is not like I was told to eat.
You are doing great!

LOL! Actually Cheryl, that name has a nice ring to it! It sounds like an authors name.
Olivia hated her name when she was growing up! The kids called her Olive Oil,Olga and crap.
Now she very grateful I did not hook her with a Shawonda,or Kelmino,or anything not common..not that anything is wrong with those names.
She was named after Olivia de Haviland...smile.

Greetings gals and guys,

My last lab work revealed H.Pylori, a stomach bacteria that can cause ulcers.  I'm on heavy duty antibiotics that cause headaches, interfere with my sleep and give me a constant bad taste in my mouth.  I've been grazing a little more to combat the bad taste.  Today I will chew sugarless gum.

Food yesterday wasn't too bad except for the garlic bread.

B coffee, egg, whole wheat toast/butter
L fruit/cottage cheese and garlic bread
S SF ice cream cup
D rest of garlic bread, cherries and another ice cream cup

Know I probably didn't get enough protein yesterday but I made a big batch of black bean chili con carne for lunches this week.

Keep on keeping on, CV Linda

Hi CV,I am sorry to hear about your illness. Do not forget to throw some yogurt into your menu.
I hope you get some rest,as your body needs that.
If you have any sick time,it may be good to take a day or two.
Not sleeping makes me nutty...
Perhaps you do not get nutty, but judgement is impaired, driving would not be good.
I am not being a nag,I know you know how to take care of yourself!
Feel better soon,I know you hate to be !

Peaking through the crack in the door. . . Can I come in?

Storming here this am. Lightening, thunder yesterday, wind today. But much cooler!

Here's the plan for Monday:

Protein shake, morning meds. Done.

Oatmeal. Done

Snack: banana

Lunch: Tuna/with boiled egg

Snack: fresh melon, 1 TBSP peanut butter

Dinner: Taco Salad, strawberries with Splenda

Evening meds.

Lots of water and decaf ice tea.

Now:  That's my plan and I plan to stick to it!

Oops! Headed to the gym in about an hour to rejoin and workout.
