Just found this group
Hi Pam. I am one of the few guys here. Lots of nice gals - for the most part. LOL. Seriously. Really bunch of good folks. I work overnight, so my posts come late at night normally.
Feel free to post often.
To get to know everyone easily, we have the daily What's New thread. It can be started by anyone. Normally gets started anytime after midnight. Just discuss anything there from what you did the day before, your plans for that day or the future. Just like chatting over the back yard fence with your neighbors (that just don't happen any more).

Welcome to the group........I'm pretty new here too.......I think you'll enjoy the group, I know I am.
Aloha Pam...and welcome to the OFF (Over fifty forum).
I don't know why OH makes it difficult to find this forum but it does. Someone almost has to tell you about it, because finding it on the "forums" pull down is almost impossible.
I am 66 and had my surgery almost the same time you did (7/26/06). I started at 319 and have lost half of myself.....161 and am very happy where I landed. So far maintenance is working and I can eat most anything but I stick to healthy types of foods like eggs, whole grain cereal/bread, lots of protein in the form of cheese, meat, chicken, nuts and shakes.
You have done beautifully, and I know you will keep up the good work til you reach your goal as well.
So glad to have you here.
Aloha nui loa,
Maui Karen

Welcome Pam. I remember how delighted I was to find this place. I tried to hang on the main forum and found that I had nothing in common with them. Then one day one of the posters said, hey, why don't you go to the old folks home and I said, what and she said, the over fifty. I found home. LOL To say that we have problems that those young folks cannot relate to is putting it mildly. We deal with so many more health issues that are age related and that sometimes don't go away. Anyway, welcome and just remember, we are like any other family, we have our moments when we disagree but we try to do with class. LOL
