My Feet, My Hair, My Music and My TV

I just wanted to say I have enjoyed hanging out here so much the past few days. I go back to work tomorrow and I will read every day, but probably won't have time to post as much.

FEET- I did my feet. I couldn't find the PED egg, I  found one for Beth at Christmas but couldn't find one today. I got another thingy and it worked pretty well.

HAIR- I had put streaks or highlights in my hair but forgot to touch-up the gray so got some Auburn touch up stuff and that worked pretty well.

MUSIC- Instead of listening to talk shows on the radio I have been listening to music...and while I hung out here, I had the radio (music) on while sitting on the porch. I forgot how happy it made me. I still didn't get a chance to get my I-Pod loaded with more tunes...but I will.

MY TV- And now I am watching one of my favorite shows, The Closer. I want to be Chief Brenda Johnson some day. I want her job and her brains and her cute accent.

Thanks for all the funnies, the conversations, ideas, encouragement and friendship these past few days ( Before too, but I really got to stay and visit a while this week.)

See ya tomorrow,
Cheryl

Cheryl, it was so nice having you around for the past few days. I am sorry that your little vacation was so short and now you have to leave and go back to work..it is not going to be the same without you chatting so much with us.

                    It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
                        that tells what kind of life you have lived.

  Well babygirl,it has been a treat having you around so much!!
Look at you!! You are taking care of yourself on all 3 levels,spiritual (music marks my life,my peace,my resolve,so many many facets),you are taking care of the mental,sharing more and more insights...smile.
Finally the physical,re-commiting yourself to your astounding success,which is what we do one day at a time,with nothing written in stone. You are a gem,a peach,and a angel,spreading your sincerity all over this forum.
I look forward to hearing from you,even if not so often. What many of us have learned in this journey is that quality over rules quantity.
I leave you now with this message,one of my all time favs:
"Beyond a wholesome discipline,be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe,no less than the stars in the sky,you have a right to be here,and whether or not it is clear to you,the universe is unfolding as it should."
-From Diserdarata (not verbatim)...
...you get my drift!
Hugs (for real)!

I do get your drift ....didn't a guy say that during or after a song? Like Aquarius or something? I got up a little earlier just to spend a bit more time here....can't just go back to one post a day cold turkey, right?

A man put it to music,I was happy for it introduced it to a new generation.
He did not sing it but recited it,I use it often for myself.
I hope your day is great!

Please find the time to keep posting Cheryl! And I love "Desiderata" Linda! Gosh, that passage took me back! I remember having that poster in my room as a teen.

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
