Just know you are in my prayers and I hope they can do the procedure soon so you can start the healing process!

George,I wanted to commend you for being aware of your weight gain, and secondly, sharing this with all of us.
I have a 10 pound gain limit, because of one of my meds when allergies/asthma get bad.
Sometimes I hear people say things like "40 pounds crept back".
PHLEEZE!!! How can that happen?? We have to be honest with ourselves, even if we are not to others.Of course if this happens, there can be so very many reasons, this I know. If one says they were in denial, soothing themselves with a long standing compulsion/ friend/drug/dragon,then you are speaking from which I know.
I weigh everyday, this may be a compulsion also, but to thine ownself be true.
Bravo!!!

You having surgery?  I hate every three months because that is when they do my blood work.  My pcp is one of these over acheivers who thinks more is best, so he takes tons of blood, does tons of tests, and spends hours telling me whats up.  He really does spend way too much time talking to his patients.  I thought I'd never say that, but he will come in, ask about my family, pull the drapes open and admire the sunset or sunrise or street below, tell me about his kids, then explain the hell out of what is going on wiith from normal anatomy to the pathological mess.  I don't have the heart to tell him that I know what he is saying, so I sit there and smile and act like he is really telling me something.  Then, I give him a Latin lesson.  He has a Latin text that he is translating, so when I'm there, I give him a lesson.  LOL  He is cute too.

B: toast

S: yogurt

L: beans

S: cheese

D: sandwhich

I might ammend it later.

Hope you are feeling better post blood drain.

LOL,Jeannie, better a doctor like yours than those infamous  jackasses some of us encounter! My doctor is dedicated, and most excellent. Yeppers,I am getting the knee replaced,my head has an ongoing investigation, neurologist thinks I have sleep deprivation,so I need to go in for a sleep study, which I had for apnea before WLS,tests showed I did not have that, but a disorder.SSDI,will not accept me as being out on leave,I still make more money than I would with them! I am only receiving 65 % of my salary,I do not know how those poor people who have no other resources make it.
I may be on certified medical leave for up to 2 years, which is the limit my job offers consecutively without termination. My position has been replaced, but once the doctor says I am able to return to work, they give me 90 days of unpaid leave to find another postion within the company,or I will be terminated automatically. They are so very very kind..huh?
I am so grateful that I had the foresight to buy long term leave insurance when I first started,or  I would be up the proverbial creek without a paddle.
You were right when you said I sound whiney sometimes. I try to be strong in this one salary household,as I would rather eat poo with a teaspoon rather than live with any of my family...grin!
I have arthritis through my body,if I was a horse, they would have shot me by now..
I do notice that since WLS,I have new pains...sigh,oh well,my weight loss shows in my electric bill as I do not get as hot as I used to!!

You sound great...smile.

I don't think you are whiney.  I'm glad you are having your knee fixed.  How is it that they can just cut you off without being cleared to go back to work?  I'd hate that.  My husband's job is really picky about his long term benfits and we have to jump through hoops when he is unable to work.  I hope you are not as plagued by the red tape as he is.
