What's New Wednesday?

Hi my OFF family:

It's going to be a loooong day. It's already been a loooong day Tuesday (I still think of this as Tuesday since I haven't been to sleep yet). Left for work Tuesday at 12:15 p.m., went to pagination school for four hours, then started work (well, I had my lean cuisine at my desk and read part of the paper first, then I went to work). Then I sat there and waited ... and waited ... and waited ... well, you get the picture. I had two late stories and a late brief. Plus, I then had to post one of the late stories and the late brief on the Web site. It was nearly 11 p.m. by the time I got out of there (of course, nothing worked right, I had three pages to do and couldn't get any one of them done because each of them depended on the other's elements to be finished). Then I almost forgot to post my stories because I was so tired and frustrated. And this was just day 2 of pagination training. The only good news is I get two hours of OT ... I can really use that. I will definitely get some OT on Friday, too, because I'll end up working til 11 or 12 (depends if we have a review Friday night).

Came home and was so hungry I wanted to eat everything in the frig, plus I was really wired, so I watched the White Sox game (they won, 10-6, three homers by first baseman Paul Konerko, including a grand slam). But now, once I tried to sleep, I couldn't ... kept getting cramps in my left foot (big toe). Arrrgh! And of course, my right knee is swollen and hurts like hell, probably from being down all day. So, of course, I'm up again (I am getting sleepy ... just not quite enough to go to sleep quite yet.)

So, tell me, what's new with you?

I'll check back later ... I figure to have lots of down time in the evening waiting for stories.

Good morning Eileen, and all.  What a wonderful world we live in.

Things are going okay for me.  Oleta has gone back to work, but her schedule makes it even worse for Mary.  She has been staying overnight at the hospital.  Because of this two things happen.  First, she does not get to see her husband much.  This is not good, as they were having some problems before her mother got sick.  Second, that means Mary has to be at their house as soon as possible.  This means I get home at 6:50 and Mary is sitting on the porch waiting for me, so I don't get to see her.  Grrr.  Then she comes home at noon or so.  Gets my breakfast ready.  I get up, eat, make my lunch/supper to take with me and take her back over there so Oleta can go to work.

Eddie has a big baseball tournament this weekend.  His first game is Friday at 6PM.  They are playing at a ballpark the Rangers built right next to their Ballpark.  It has a 15' high left field wall, so it resembles Fenway.  Announcers, concession stand, everything.

The Rangers won tonight. Tied with the Angels again.  One more game against them tonight.  They were down 3-0.  Came up in the 5th inning.  First two batters made out.  Then they scored 6 runs.  Two outs, nobody on and score 6 runs.  Chased John Lackey right out of there.  Josh Hamilton is back and back big.  In two games he has ****s.  That's what this team needed.

Sorry to bore you all.  Gotta go now.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Hi George:

I saw a bit of the Rangers-Angels highlights on SportsCenter; actually watched the game Monday night. The kids ballpark sounds neat. Enjoy Eddie's tournament.

And you don't bore us!

Had an impromtu family over for dinner.  The two kids are picky eaters so looks like the next time I have them it will be spegheti or hot dogs.

Today is an early day at the library.  I have to run some errands after work.  I am thinking I need to find an exercise buddy.  Sitting too much these days.

Clueless about weight loss and weight loss surgery of any kind.

My client and I went to the SPCA - a very dangerous place for me. There was a group of children, a fenced in area, all filled with itty bitty kittens. They were fostered kittens, brought in for the group to hold and cuddle.

One tuxedo baby, named Newton,  decided to melt my heart. He rolled on his back, began to suck my finger and purred. Oh no - I do not need another cat.

Just as my heart was saying "adopt, adopt, adopt" I heard a squeal of GRANDMA and felt arms wrapped around my legs. The M&M's were there.  Saved by a grand.

Annette:

Hard for me to pass up kitties too, which is why I stay away from those places. I've decided two is enough for my living space (three was actually too much, even though I loved Diva and still miss her).

Saved by the grands!! I have always wanted a calico but Coffee gets very upset when I leave town and she licks a bald spot on her tummy, so occasionally I think she needs a buddy to keep her company. But when ever I kitty sit for my son or we have 4 legged visitors she will NOT come out. I am actually afraid she would stay under the bed until she starved, and even tho iyt is her house she is at the bottom of the pecking order when other animals are around so there will be no calico in my future while my baby is with me, but I do enjoy visiting them at the Humane society. But like you ,my heart screams, Take her home with you, she needs you!!

Jean,

Coffee must like being an only furchild. I have considered fostering animals but know they would never leave this house. My kids already call me the crazy old cat lady.

Yesterday, I cleaned the guest bedroom so it would be nice and clean for the house sitter who is coming to watch kitty and the house.  Since that room was so nice and clean, I had to clean our room and my office to match it.  So, today, I will mop the hallway and do the front bathroom and living room.  Might as well get it all done at one time.

The students are doing presentations today.  Yeah.  I don't really have to lecture, but it is so hard to stay attentive to them.  They glue themselves to the podium and do not move nor do they use facial or hand gestures. To say they are boring is putting it mildly. Two hours of student presentations.

No office hours today.  I'm coming home and finishing the house.  Before I leave for my trip, this house will shine.  I don't ususally keep a dirty house.  It may get a little cluttered from all my research, but I have to say, the place is a dusty mess.  So, along with mopping the floors, I'm dusting and knocking down spider webs.

Hope you all have a good day.
