kathie was so nice to invite me to this board
i had been here once or twice before and then i just for got about it. i can get a bit overwhelmed on the regular rny board and the state board. i know this board is for all sorts of surgeries so i promise not to cause any trouble. lol i am 56, have two grandkids, the best actually, and three adult children, the best actually. lol i am also going to be having a panni in august or sept. i only had my surgery in jan of this year, but i have a huge hernia, so the doc is waiting as long as he can and then combine the two. i will only be out 7 to 8 months out probably. this really scares me to be honest. i would be scared no matter how long i was out. you know one thing i am really disappointed in is my knees. i have had total knee replacements in both knees and i thought the knees would get better when i lost all this weight. well, nooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!! i guess i might have well just get used to it. hope u all have a good day and i will be around and not just a lurker. vick
EXPERIENCE WITHOUT REFLECTION IS HOLLOW
Hi Vicky:
Welcome to the board. I understand about the knees. I had a total knee replacement after weight loss surgery in my right knee, then last December had a revision of that and hoped that would finally clear up my problems. Well, I still had pain in my right knee. I think I'm going to be one of those people who will never have a good knee replacement. I still have swelling in my right leg. It's been six months now and it's still not good.
This is a good place to be. We're a good group. I'm glad you decided to join us.

We "need" a little drama once in a while to keep us awake! Welcome, I think you'll like it here. I've had both knees replaced too. Mine are much better than they were, little pain, none at night time, but they'll never be like the originals were when they were working right! I had a lower body lift August of 2007. Doctor removed 17 lbs of excess skin. Can't imagine dealing with that in a humid climate. My area is dry, desert and it was bad enough. Looking forward to getting to know you.

Hey there Vicki,
Welcome to the greatest group (IMHO) of all. I truly believe that you have found your new home. Sorry to hear about your knees. I'm also 56, had my RNY in Aug. of last year, so welcome also the losers bench. Isn't it a great life, to be a loser, hahaha......
Hope to hear more from you,
Pat A

Vickie,
Welcome to the OFF..Now my understanding of being on the loser's Bench is you get to sit on the Loser's Bench, after one has their surgery, no matter what type of surgery one has...but as long as one is losing and trying to lose their weight ..you are considered to be on the Loser's Bench..I hope to be on the loser's Bench the rest of my life.. How about you...????
Hope this clears up your question re: the loser's Bench.. Nice to meet ya..
