Thanks Karen,

Yes, life is treating me well and I am grateful, as you know February and March seemed very bleak, but that was then and now I am enjoying the fruits of the effort to stay positive and keep moving in a forward direction.  Dillinger is doing amazing and while I know that will come to an end, I take each day as it comes with him and the power of love is a very healing and wonderful thing.

Ok, off to clean this old house,

Thanks for the nod and have a great day, I sure do hope to meet you one of these days!

Hugs, Laureen

Laureen,

My daughter is one of those people who always expects that things will have a good outcome and for her they usually do! Seems like the sun shines on that girl most days. I try to have that attitude but I'm a bit cynical at times! She often has unexpected pleasures like running into an old friend in Florida thousands of miles from home. . . or having someone just offer her a wonderful job when she wasn't even looking. Things like that.

I think that a person's attitude and outlook do show through. Sometimes it's tough to put up a good front when things look bleak. Your efforts to stay positive certainly were worthwhile. I'm glad it didn't go any longer. I know you were getting worried about all of the "what ifs" had a good job not found you! You were both out there (the job and Laureen) and thank goodness you bumped into each other just in time!

Good Morning Carla and Friends,

Just a quick stop in to say hi. I've had a productive week. Restarted my gym membership and went 4 days last week. Plan to do that many each week and take weekends off. I'll still walk or ride my recumbent bike on the weekend.

Also scheduled my yearly exam and plan to have a bone density test and annual labwork done before my mid August doctor's appt. Feels good to get those things on the schedule.

Carla, tho I was born here in Washington the rest of my family was born in Arkansas. My southern roots run deep: Mississippi, Tennessee, N and S Carolina, Alabama. . . My mom always said I was the most "southern" of her kids. Mike says when we cross the line from MO to AR my face just glows like I am "home." Love everything about area except the humidity and the chiggers!

This next week will be busy. We have a group of our retired teacher friends coming for lunch on Thursday. Erin and her family will arrive later that night for 4 days. Can't wait to see the twins. Two or three weeks seems like an eternity!

Gotta run. Want to catch  the sunrise from the deck. You all have a good one!

Like I said in two weeks I will be on my own and can drive and walk anywhere...I look so forward to that!!

Have a really womderful day everyone. Prayers  to those in need.

Good morning everyone! I hope that today is the start of nothing short of being a great week end for you all!

I got the checkbook taken care of and now I feel better. I did tell Bill that I can't do it all alone anymore. I am forgetting more than I remember now and so some things have to change. I don't think he liked it but that is life. I know when we got home he spent a looong time out on the patio doing nothing. Maybe...just maybe...do you think he was thinking? I sure hope so.
Kayden came over yesterday instead of coming today. I had him for close to 7 hours. He was really fussy yesterday but I don't think he was feeling to good either. His one eye has been watering for a bit and yesterday there was a lot of matter in it and I had to keep it wiped. At times there was a lot of redness on the bottom and the eyelid. I know it had to hurt. I told DS that he needed to see the doctor and he told me that he did and all the doctor said was to massage it. I don't think that is working if you ask me..but then again who asked me? I spent the day holding him for most of it. If I put him down he screamed and then when I held him he would fall asleep. I felt so sorry for him. The poor little thing. DS told me that the night before he was in so much pain with gas. I told him that he had gas too and I gave him the gas drops 2 times and he got a bit and only a bit of relief then. DS told me that his mom showed him how to do the drops and then I told him that he can get them no more than 12 times in a day. So if he needed more he could get them. I know that he is now on a formula for gas and fussiness and I just don't think it is working for Kayden. I still think that he needs soy formula..now if only someone does something about it.

I started calling Kayden Chip now. I got that because of his chipmunk cheeks. I tell him that Grandma loves her Chip. I am not sure if anyone knows it but I do...and when he grows up he will too. It might be just out little secret and that wouldn't be a bad thing either.

My sister just called me to tell me that we have a candle party to go to. My niece is having one and I knew that she was having it but didn't know when. Now I have to be there at 5:30 tonight to go. Oh boy how fun can it be. I just told sister of mine that I don't burn candles and I am not using the candle warmer either since Misty is so unpredictable now...you never know what she is going to do other than you know it is going to be trouble. ha ha  But I think that Autumn is afraid that no one is going to be coming and so I will go...

Bill and Shawn are going fishing early in the morning. Chips other grandma...aka....Grammy is getting him and taking him to church in the morning. Bill got his nose out of joint and decided that next Sunday we will take him to church...and the fight of the Grandparents are beginning. I hate the thought of that happening. Poor little Chip doesn't need that in his life.

I better get going. I have some things to do and then it will be off to the party. I am sending everyone love and hugs and prayers to go with them. Have a wonderful day and don't forget to smile...

Hi Carla and my OFF family:

Have fun at your reunion. Glad the party went well. Drive safely down to Florida and call me sometime ... I miss ya!

Well, week 1 of training is done. I know I'm extra crabby ... and then my boss stuck me with the Region section and that meant sitting around waiting for stories all night. I had most of my stories early, but I had to wait for two stories, so I couldn't finish my pages. The stupid thing was, they had a feature for the centerpiece (the main package on the page) and the person who was doing it was at home sick ... it wasn't a breaking story or anything, but she put it off until Friday and then was scrambling to get it done. And the editor was playing around, getting treats for people (which was nice), but in the meantime, the writer was having problems with her computer, e-mailed him while he was gone and he didn't know it for a half hour. So that delayed getting the story to me. I was just frustrated. The only good thing about the night was I got out of there at 10:30 (which meant I didn't get a lot of overtime ... oh well). But because I was waiting for the story, I forgot about another small story I was supposed to run ... and I had to call back a page to stick it on there.

We had thunder boomers early this morning, too ... woke me up. But I had left the windows closed because it was muggy when I got home. Scooter was snuggling in my arms when the thunder started and he jumped up, too, quite startled because it was very loud. Don't remember what time it was ... before 7, though because it was still dark out.

Well, I want to get dressed and run out to the store. Not much money, but there are eggs on sale for 88 cents and I want to get an onion and make burgers ... my Foreman grill is back, so I can make some burgers and have that for meals this week with a salad. Maybe I get some tomatoes, too. Wish they were in season, but they'll still taste good.

Drive safely, Carl and Carla. Wish I could have seen you more.
