OT....I finally got an iPod!
Not knowing how much I'd really use it I just got the little cheap Shuffle. It will only hold 250 songs but that's OK. I have to say I love it! It's almost too small and I can see how it could easily be lost but that's also one thing I like about it, it just clips on anywhere and you never know it's there! I had to learn the hardway to be careful about hitting the 'Download' button on iTunes! I bought some weird music when I thought I was just going to listen to a sample!
I'm slowly learning how to use iTunes but any tips are greatly appreciated! Thanks to everyone who helped me decide I needed one of these. Now I'm looking at iPhones! I could get everything in one gizmo instead of having to carry the Palm Pilot, Blackberry and the iPod. Wonder if Santa thinks I've been good this year?!?!

How wonderful!! My first iPod could hold 250 songs,I won it at work.Within two weeks this was passed on to my youngest grandson,I bought one that holds 8000 songs! It is not full, which is great,as new songs come out all the time.
It is amazing how much of our life is relative and dated by songs.
Enjoy it...!

Yeah, I can already tell this one is only the beginning! Which one do you have? Can you have seperate play lists on yours? Some days I'm Country...some days I'm old Motown or Rock and Roll...ya know what I mean? This Shuffle is OK but I'd like to add some walking tunes but don't want them shuffled in with all the rest or have to scroll through to find them.

Good for you. It will not take you too long to master the art of download. I, too, have some really funky music that I didn't really mean to buy, but over time I have learned to appreciate the funkiness of the music. I am getting an electronic dictionary and want a Kendell but cannot justify buying a Kendell when I have so many academic books that I need to buy that are downloadable. After I defend my dissertation, I am buying one for pleasure reading. Technology is grand.

I've been reading books on my Palm Pilot for years, I couldn't tell you the last time I bought a reaql paper book! A friend of mine has a Kendell and to me it's too big. If I carried a normal size purse it probably wouldn't be a big deal but I hate purses and usually just put my Palm Pilot wallet in my pocket! Whatever you use it's so nice to always have your reading material at your fingertips. It's surprising how much reading you can do standing in lines and waiting in traffic!
