What we are eating and what's eating us Tuesday!

Today at 4:30, I am heading back home.  While I have loved Philly, I am ready to re-enter reality and get back home.  My few days here have not been too good on my water or food intake.  Too much to do. The first day, we walked and walked and that night we had drinks and although I only had one, I still felt a little funny, not drunk.  The next day, we went on a museum tour and walked and walked, then walked around town some more and I kept thinking, something isn't right.  It hit me right before I melted to the ground, dehydration.  Yes, I let myself dehydrate.  So, for the rest of Sunday night, I drank water, ate some salt, and had two bananas.  I was still weak on Monday, but now I'm feeling much better.

Food:

B: 1/2 bagel with cream cheese

L: 1/2 Reuben sandwich

D: Barbeque in Memphis.

If I get around snack food, I will eat, but over the last few days, no snacking.

Hope you guys have a good food and water day. Don't go too long without remember to drink at least two sips of water.  My two cents. LOL

I am from NY.  Being in Philly would be bad for me.  I would have to have soft pretzels.  Philly cheesesteaks.  Mmmm.

Glad you realized you were dehydrating before it was too late.  Not fun.

I am afraid at times that I will dehydrate if I have too many days off.  I do much better drinking at work and at the Ballpark.  Sitting around the house.... not so good.

I am like you, I do better when I am in my office or teaching because I need the water to keep my mouth from getting dry with all that talking.  I don't know why I have troubles when I travel but I have seen a pattern of both not eating and not drinking.  When I get home and before I head out to my next destination, I am packing my suitcase with some protein bars and maybe a fruit or two.  At my next conference, all my food is free; well, five meals are.  The food here was free too but it wasn't planned.  We stopped to eat and my boss picked up the tab.  He is a junk food eater, so we ate at a lot of sandwich places.  Last night we were honored by the head of the English department at Temple and he and his wife had a lovely meal catered and there were green foods, and fish, and broiled chicken, and bread, and other things too.  So that was nice.

The philly cheesesteaks are so good.  I could only eat the meat out of mine but that was the best.  Yeah, I did take a bite of a soft pretzel.  Oh, and we went to China town for Chinese food.  Yeah, the food selection here is wonderful and if I had time, I'd eat my way across town. LOL

Jeannie,I am happy you did not dehydrate. There is no need to torture me with a Reuben sandwich!
Oh how I miss the food of the east, and they have some of the best tasting water.
.....only kidding ....about the food...NOT!

Good morning Linda and all,

Yesterday I thought I did so well I would see a loss but nope! I think I am spoiled as in the past it would show up right away now  I have to work much harder for it. So yesterday,
One slice of Dakota toast and coffee
B- cottage cheese and blueberries
S-Greek yogurt, raspberries and kashi
L-ham and cheese roll, crackers and PN butter, cherries
S-Greek yogurt, raspberries and kashi
D-Smart Ones chicken enchilada, no rice yuck, threw that part away
S-granola bar and tea
Maybe that's too much food but I am hungry if I don't get at least that...
Running 20 min at 3 miles an hour and 10 min at 2.5 with hand weights.
I'll try to be patient and see what happens by end of the week, if no results will rethink menu....This is hard...I am getting so frustrated.....
It's all good....really...no worries....
Cheryl

Dearest Cheryl, with the amount of exercise you are doing, you are building up your muscle mass, they have weight to them that will show on the scale.
While it seems you are going no where,I guarantee you are.
I think in addition TO doing the scale, you should take measurements TOO!
Huggers,baby girl!

Good morning TO you this fine TWOsday. I hope that you day is just TO wonderful for you. I wish the same TO all my other siblings TOO.

Food was alright yesterday. Nothing great but fine for me. I am glad that we talked last night and straightened my head out. Sometimes I get TO involved in things and then I get all screwed up in my head...which is not a good thing for me. You can imagine how TOtally nuts I can get.

Food yesterday was:
B: cheerios with milk
L: deli turkey meat
D: a chicken taco
S: nothing

I wish that everyone has a wonderful and happy day TOday. I wish the same for all TOmorrow TOO. I am sending love and hugs TO all of you along with prayers for you and yours. Please know that you are just TOO nuts but then again aren't we all? What is the purpose of life if not TO enjoy what you are doing? Don't forget TO share your blessings and happiness with those around you...wherever you are at.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.
