morning george and OFF...

well yesterday i was called into work because the new woman i trained doesn't want to work the food court anymore....sighs...oh well i didn't care for her anyhow....but i did walk into one hell of a mess from the old lady!!! OMG!!!!! but one good thing was the HR came down to see me with the new paperwork on how things need to be cooked and where they are to be cooked...all for the old lady's benefit...she got to see exactly first hand on what i and the others walk into when they follow the old lady's shift!!! she about freaked out when she was the mess!!! so now that one more point in my favor....took me over an hour to get the mess cleaned up...thank GOD i wasn't busy then!!! i did get busy towards the end of my shift and i am sure i forgot to do something!!! LOL but atleast the place was clean once again!!! ;-)

had some rain this morning and looks like it may rian again...no storms that i know of but man we need some rain....the people below us night before last had the firepit going and i told rick before they lit it up the grass under it was all dead and i bet it would catch fire and sure enough it did!!! i guess that scared them because they put the fire out and moved the pit close to the building and no wood around....good!!!! seems the smoke ALWAYS comes in our windows and makes for an uncomfortable evening with the windows shut!!! the least they could do is move the dumb thing towards the end of the building where there aren't any windows for the smoke to go in!!!

not much else happening here so will get out of dodge for now...have a great day!!!!

SMILE ;-)

Good Morning All,
Thought I'd pop in & say hello.   Today I'm off to teach my two granddaughters piano lessons.  After that I had planned to go kayaking in the harbor --- but now I am wheezing & am thinking I may not go taday after all.   It's been warm here & I've been out in the sun alot.  I know,   it's so bad for the skin, but it feels so good.     Gotta drop by Mom's to see how she's doing & that's about it for today.
Have a great day everyone!

Hi George and my OFF family:

I'm on the phone with Pat; she sounds perkier at least today.

The final day of training; I'm feeling a lot more comfortable with the program. We'll see how it is next week when we go live next week.
Last night was a little frustrating. I had to wait around for a story and two photos ... story showed up but the photos didn't. One photo was missing due to a misunderstanding: The photographer was there shooting the event, but was told another photographer would be there, so he didn't bring his computer to send the photo. The other photographer shot the event, but not the person we needed for the story. So the reporter had to call photog No. 1 and tell him to send the photo ... hopefully it arrived after I left. I left instructions for the morning person about the missing photo and what to do if it didn't show (we could use a file photo). Missing photo No. 2 was of a dog show; the photographer had to shoot that event plus two others and he didn't get in until nearly 9:50 p.m., as I was getting ready to leave. I prepared the page as best I could, then left another note for the person involved in that page about that photo. I'm sure it won't take that much time for him to finish that page.

I was pretty tired when I got home. Watched some baseball, had a snack and zonked out with Scooter snuggling in my arms. It's cool now and clouds are moving in ... looks like rain; feels like it, too ... my knee is really yakking today.

George, you are so right about that quote. Careless living does kill. I always thought I'd be dead by the time I was 60 before I had WLS. I know I have stretched my life now because of the weight I have lost. I have ruined my joints because of the excess weight I carried around before WLS, and I'm paying the price for that with the failed knee replacement. I really believe this will never be right.
No big plans for the weekend. I still haven't done my grocery shopping, and seeing as how I have very little in the freezer, I need to replenish my stock. I want to get going and go to the farmers market tomorrow. Then, I'd like to see Harry Potter, followed by a trip to the grocery store. By then, I'm hoping Meijer won't be as crowded (wishful thinking! That place is always crowded).

Have a good day.

Good Morning George & OFFr's,

Not as much time to pop in and say hi these days, but I think of and wonder what you all are up to and wanted to stop by and say hi all!

Work is work and pretty busy most days and my life outside of work is busy and I try to give Dillinger his fair share of laptime, which means I don't spend much time at the computer when I am home.

Dillinger is still doing fairly well, though last night we had a hellavua storm and he was lying in my lap when it all started and started shivering and wound up going to hide in the bathroom, which since he feels safe in there, I let him until the storm was over, at which time I had to coax him out with treats of course ;). . .

Well work is calling, so I'd best get back to it, but wanted to say hi to my dear friends here. . .  Have a great day and a better weekend wherever you are!

Hugs, Laureen

I can not believe how tired I am, everyone keeps asking me what is wrong because I am usually the perky smiling one and today I just feel like a zombie.and it is COLD, july and the mid 50s, how odd is that?
The boss is off to a new born baby visit, so I get to check in and catch up some.
Annette your day with the grands sounded like such fun. Next weekend There is this thing called "Wild about Omaha" there is so much free stuff going on, the zoo, botanical gardens, Childrens museum, Royals game and lots more. It is going to be so much fun, I want to take mine to everything. I had better be rubbing lots of Vicks into my feet! I was going to work one 8 hour day so I could take a day off to have my sweet Hunter, I have not seen him in over a week and I am in serious withdrawal.
I got my first red tomato and had BLTs, its like a summer ritual.
Last night I dried  5 trays of herbs, my house smells incredible when I do that. Won't be long Margo until you get that rosemary lemon bath salts. I grew lemon thyme this year and it is so awesome with chicken.  MMM I think I will pop some chicken, garlic, rosemary and lemon thyme in the crock pot this weekend. I also want to experiment with some homemade breads. Basil & dried tomato and a loaf of spinach, feta and black olive. The gals at work will be thrilled, Ok I'm off . Have blessed day.

No problem, just put them on a cookie sheet and dry them in the oven on a very very low temp, warm will do, or even just a pilot light. Some of the bigger ones, like sage and lavender, I bundle, tie and hang upside down. Those you have make a great "rub" mixture, I crumble them together add some garlic powder and rub then on meat, a roast, chicken..especially yummy on country ribs with some rosemary. Enjoy
Lat weekend we were at a Convention in Sioux City Iowa, had dinner at a very nice Italian resturaunt .They gave us fancy bottles of "spring water" with mint leaves in it. I have just read an article from Martha S. to serve water with Basil leaves in it, haven't tried it yet, but I adore basil so I may..Blessings
