OT: ARGH!!! I need to vent!

On Monday I can return to normal exercise and going in the pool (and taking a bath......I could shower no problem just couldn't take a bath which is my new form of nightly relaxation.......calgon take me away)

You are so right......if I had not changed my life style over the last few years it could be so much worse!

I agree with the rest ... this guy sounds like a snake-oil salesman and a quack. Get a new doc. Maybe the cardiologist can recommend someone. Now relax. Take some deep breaths. You know what you need to do. You have a minor issue. I think it can be managed easily, so does the cardiologist. He's the expert. Don't worry (I know, this coming from me who worries about EVERYTHING). Just dump the quack and find a new doc.

Ruth,you have plenty reason to be upset. I would dump the new PCP,he does not sound reputable.
Can you replace both of them? I am under impressed with the both of them.

I feel ok with the cardiologist and he has a wonderful reputation around here.....he's the big cheese at the hosptial.

I will tell him what the PCP said and reconfirm our initial understand of what he said in the hospital as well as what his written report says (seems very clear to me).

Ruth, having had many of the angios in my life...well for the past 17 years anyway...I have a tendency to lean on the side of the cardiologist. You said that he is the big cheese at the hospital so he must be darn good.

My cardiologist told me to take 400 i.u.'s of vitamin E every day......that vitamin makes the cholesterol less sticky and it slides through a lot better. So if I was you I would take that everyday for sure...either way it isn't going to hurt you.

I would say that you are aware of the blockage and you can do some things to make it stay at where it is and even get better. Jus****ch the things you eat since that has a lot to do with the cholesterol and watch the stress...but eliminate it...if you find a way to do that let me know alright? I bet you could make a lot of money if you found the answer to that mystery!!!! But you can do things to help to make the stress a bit better.

I would ask the cardiologist about a pcp for you too...they are pretty good at this stuff...at least mine always have been. It is important to have a good relationship with your doctors and it sounds like the only way you could with that pcp is if you made a lot of money for him getting his stuff. He is a peddler if I ever heard one! He would be the best doctor is he isn't yours!

I adored and trusted my Dr. in NY and often think I might just fly up for a 3 day weekend so I can see him again......it's just so convenient to have your primary care physician close to home or at least within a reasonable drive and I don't mean a 30 hr drive....lol 

One thing I'm sure of today is that I will finding me a new PCP!

Congratulations on your weight loss!  It looks like you have ot had wls so I don't have to caution you about taking asprin wothout the surgeon's approval.

I'm glad you can see through this doctor.  I hope you will take it a step or two further with a letter to the AMA and a letter to the Florida medical board.  In Michigan the Secretary of State monitors consumer affairs issues, I don't know who does it in Florida.  These guys depend on patients not making waves, but those waves could float other patients to safety.  If he is investigated and not found to be doing anything wrong, there is no harm.  But it sounds like you could save folks lots of money and maybe their lives by doing some follow up.  Let me know if you want me to do some research for you.

Hi.  think you are right about the PCP. I don't know which was the false positive test, but I do know the nuclear medicine test can be false if you tend to have fat around you heart (some of us are just made that way.)  I know in other arteries, until they are over 60% stenosed, they are considered normal. that they wouldn't consider working on them until they are 70% stenotic. Not sure about coronary arteries.
