I'm home
Glad to hear you made it thru safe and sound. You might be able to "Cut" your pills into smaller sizes rather than crush them. My doc recommended making them the size of birth control pills. At least that way I could swallow them with a sip of water. I also drank one oz of protein drink (one Nyquil cup) every 30 minutes that I was awake the first few days. Also mix Benefiber in with your protein drink or crystal light and it will help decrease the constipation problem.

Jan,
I am so happy to see you doing good and back home. Sounds like your surgery was a success!! Now, you are on the road to a wonderful new beginning, are you ready??? Of course, you are. I also had to do 2 wks of liquids, then 2 wks of soft mush, hahaha. I made it, so will you. I mixed my crushed pills with applesauce.
Big hugs,
And waiting to read all your WOW moments too!

I cannot add to what everyone has already said. I can tell you that for a few days post op, I felt tired and didn't really feel like doing much. The key, I think, is staying up and moving around as much as you can and drinking a lot of water. I think by moving, you build up your red blood cells to replace those that you have lost.
You are on your way now.

Yay! Good for you! Glad you are home and ready to get getting to where your going! I was lucky. My Doc didn't have me crush pills or do liquid meds...I swallowed the whole ones right off the bat! I'm a good pill taker and I can even swallow them withou****er! But I don't!
Don't feel bad if it's hard to get your protein down at first...you will...right now you are in the getting used to what happened to me stage.Everyone has given good advice and as long as you do what the doc says you will do great.
Yay again!
