Marylyn,
I'm very sorry for your loss. It does get better. Honestly. Not today. Not even tomorrow, but eventually.
I was widowed in February, 1995. Life does go on. You meet wonderful people and you still get up and brush your teeth.
Don't take away the grieving... it's a healing time... use it wisely...at some point you'll find yourself smiling again...
Take advantage of all those people that wrote in the guest book. I called every single one of them and thanked them for coming... and then told them I'd be available for dinner or a movie...or just a good evening of watching tv with them and not to forget me. Well, some did....but a whole lot didn't.
Find grief counseling. It's a winner through and through. There will be others you can commiserate with that understand.
If you can find a local chapter of WPS.. Widow Persons Service. I met them on a cruise.... and went a few times.
I wish you well. Another chapter in your life has started. It's not a bad chapter, just a another chapter...and not the final chapter.
