Welcome to Sunday!! I am very happy I saw Harry Potter for free!! I like bonding with the kids, but Oi Vey!!
Alert the media!! It SUCKED. LOL! Of course I won't let the kids know, but now I know why Maui Karen said she walked out!!
Today I ate: B-No, for shame. L-Chicken and Cole Slaw D-Red beans and Rice, with Ham and corn. S-4 Black licorice drops S-Strawberry yogurt.
The lab screwed up and I had to have 2 more blood tests, and a urine sample. As grandma said,"Even the devil tells the truth sometimes". They DID wrap one blood vial in foil! Some of you will know what this means, and if you don't,ain't no big thing.I have been tested for all the vitamins, including D and K.So we shall see what my body is actually absorbing...smile.
I changed my tag line, please say what you think when you see that sentence,"What we fear,we create". Have a wonderful Sunday!

Linda,

Please tell me what wrapping the vial with foil means...I've been so puzzled by that ever since it first came up, and once my mind latches onto something, no matter how trivial, it won't let go!

I like your new tagline.  I am a firm believer that our thoughts (and feelings) are more powerful than we realize.

B: bacon (reduced fat) & whole grain toast
S: iced skinny latte
L: shrimp & cucumber salad, tomatoes
S: salmon spread on sesame crackers
D: roast lamb, couscous & peach salad, eggplant & tomato salad
S: honeydew melon

Since I've been on "bandcation" (thanks for coining that term, Linda!), I've been experimenting with all these carbs (like bread, pasta, rice) that my band didn't like and really enjoying most of them (the rice turned out to be a "so what").  I've been watching myself closely though because I was afraid that eating one mouthful of pasta might trigger a carb-frenzy, but so far that hasn't happened.

Dearest Jean,it is wonderful that you are using your "bandcation" to test your body. It seems as though you have learned much. Your body is really adjusting, and your eating habits really have changed. I know some of the RNY folk who are on maintenance have a (healthy) fear of any white food,or any carbs. I am happy to say I can have a little and leave the rest.
I do not want any food to have power over me. Nor do I want to live like I did in the pre-RNY days, where one drop of the wrong food, and the binge is on. To me,it is still giving food the power that I do not want it to have over me.I am happy to say that given free choice,I still enjoy my everyday, low carb foods the best. I LIKE meatballs with cottage cheese instead of pasta, and so on,how cool is that? I ENJOY healthy eating!!
I am happy to say I have been able to enjoy healthy amounts of"forbidden" food without going over board in the least. For people who feel they can only eat in a restrictive way, they are totally right. Because they feel that way,it is,and in most cases, the physical reaction is real. Mossie says she takes one day off every week to enjoy chocolate,or cookies, she can do this without going over board, and then hop right back to her usual fare.
I am enjoying Linda's maintenance,George is enjoying George's maintenance,and so on.
Most us know our bodies and know our limitations, and it is as we think.or know.
Thanks for your wonderful insight.

Linda,

Thanks for the comments on the photos.  I use the one of me & Santa as the before picture to show new group members. One man accused me of showing a false photo, he didn't believe it was really me.

Yesterday was spent sleeping and mostly drinking. Lunch was a warm crunchy bagel, slathered with peanut butter and apples. Not my usual fare but I slept like a baby after that.

Your new tag line ... oh yes!!! Very true.

Kisses

Annette, you make me laugh! There was a woman who came here, not one of our regulars, who believed I had doctored my photo. Oh yeah,I wanted to sport a picture where I was so big that I needed my own zip code!
You DO look like a totally different person though! Your genes must be strong because I can see you in all the grand kids, but especially Miss Melanie!
I am so happy to hear you enjoyed your bagel, which is not your usual, but I do believe it helped you sleep, and that doesn't mean you are headed for dist ruction, you do not think that way,and you are strong of will.
I hope that your tests bring nothing but good news.
I am going for a sleep deprivation test tomorrow morning,it is some kind of EKG,I thought it would be at night like when I had my Apnea test, but not.
You are in my heart and prayers,my dear.

Morning Linda,

For some reason, I can't see your tag line. I have only been able to see part of a lightning bolt and a moon I think but can't see the rest. I'm curious too, what is the foil wrapped around the tube of blood? Or am  misunderstanding?

Beth called and said she and her friends went to Harry Potter Friday night, they missed the opening but still went and dressed up. She went as a house elf, Winkie? She said it was very long. When she was younger,  Tom used to read her the books, I listened too...She is not a big reader, in fact she only reads if she has to. I wish she would start reading. She is a have to be in the action, can't sit and read kind of person. So maybe as she gets older she'll sit still long enough to read...
Anyway....I am doing pretty good food wise, usually the weekend is where I undo all the good I did during the week, but so far so good.
Dakota bread.....I think Ruth asked about it.
It is from a wonderful bakery here in town. It has whole wheat, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, and molasses.
Yesterday
Pre B- Dakota toast and coffee
B-Greek yogurt, raspberries, kashi
S-Granola bar
L-ham and cheese roll, PN butter, crackers, cherries
S-Greek yogurt, raspberries and kashi
D-Tony Roma ribs (get em at Safeway and the grill as they are pre cooked), and grilled zucchini.
S-tea and granola bar

Have to work on scrapbook projects today and do laundry.
Take Care,
Cheryl
