Just checked my calendar. It's MONDAY. - What's up?
Hello George and everyone.....
I am extemely busy with my job today so this will be short.
My granddaughters are all safe and sound with their mom's and dad's. I miss them but am sure enjoying "my fly by the seat of my pants" life once again!!
I had an awesome weekend...great to be with friends and Dwayne ....doing fun things once again. No one to worry about but myself!!!
Nic, my daughter Jamie and little Gracie are on their way to Memphis as we speak. They will return back to Iowa on July 31st. More testing and treatments for Nic at St. Judes. Any prayers for him will be appreciated!!
I have lots of catching up to do on the OFF board. I have missed my friends here!!
Have a good rest of the day. Prayers to those in need.
Love and hugs to all......connie d

Good Afternoon George & OFFr's,
I am so tired of hearing my team lost another game, that I've stopped paying attention :( Glad your's won! Like you funny too!
My weekend started at 3:30 on Friday and on my way home, I hit JCPenney's to check out their big sale, I have not shopped since I went shopping for clothing for my new job and I needed a pair of navy slacks, so off I went, $132 later, I came away with 3 pair of slacks (yup one was navy), and several different tops, stopped in 2 furniture stores, went home, tried everything on, went to an AA meeting, back to JCP's to return, exchange a couple of items and look in their furniture department, found something I liked and that would fit, but don't like the fabric choices, guess I have to keep shopping (lol), then went home to hang out with Dillinger. Got up Saturday a.m., changed linens, made oatmeal, fresh blueberry pancakes for me and the housemates, then off to an AA meeting, came home, hung with Dillinger for a bit, eventually went to my friend's to hang at her pool for afternoon, had dinner, went to my women's AA meeting and then home to hang with Dillinger and bed. . . yesterday, got up went to my early morning AA meeting and then home to do laundry and straighten up my house, hung with Dillinger until my cousin from NY got to my house, she hadn't seen me since Christmas, she said I got skinny (lol), I said, not quite, but it was great to see her, we went to eat lunch, I treated, as her b-day was Saturday, then to The Christmas Shops, where I was looking for something, found it, along with something I wasn't looking for ;), after I took her to a farm stand near my home, where she was able to get some Jersey tomatoes and fresh picked corn to bring home to her husband and then we went to my friend's pool where we hung out, laughed some, called my Uncle, to speak with my aunt, who had a bowel resectioning last week, glad to hear she sounded like her old self and is healing well, though we had news that my aunt and uncle's SIL has some form of lukemia, so hopefully, that will turn out ok. . . my cousin left around 5:30, I took a shower, got dressed and went to an AA commitment I took as a way of celebrating my 22 years sober, it was in a transisition home for women re-entering society, gave me a bit of gratitude for where my life is today and where it could be if I don't do the things I need to on a daily basis, after that I went home, watched some television with Dillinger in my lap and then went to bed. . . well you asked, I told, that was my weekend. . .
Today is just another work day and I went to a lunchtime AA meeting, after work I will go the gym, go take care of Dillinger and then meeting my friend Owen for Curry Udon soup. . .
I am having a wonderful day and reading posts on here has contributed to it!
Hugs, Laureen

Hi George and all my OFF friends,
I was very productive this weekend. Sat. I got the two air conditioners out of the basement and placed in the windows. While I was doing that I discovered the middle support for the box spring was sitting on the floor. No wonder the bed was sagging in the middle. So since I had to take the mattress and box spring off to fix the support, I rotated everything too. Miraculously, my back isn't bothering me. I weeded the gardens Sat. evening. Yesterday I painted the soffits in my kitchen. Did three loads of laundry, folded and put away. I cooked, did dishes. And I sewed a new cover for the seat of our kitchen stool and stapled it on. What's odd is that with all this physical work, I could not get to sleep last night. I should be exhausted.
This coming Sat. we are hosting a party so I've moved into hyper mode. The job I hate the most is tonight after work - vacuuming. I hate this mostly because it needs to be done twice this week. Now and just before the party.
I found out the grands will be visiting the first Sat. in August. Oh joy, can't wait.
The grandsons asked for money to build a tree house instead of birthday gifts this year. We sent the money now because their birthdays aren't until Sept and later. We thought they would want to build and enjoy it now. Winter comes early where they live. They will get birthday gifts too.
Hugs to all,
Bev

Hi all! I am really doing good today! I am over the problem from the fill last week and the trip to the hospital over the weekend.
Hopefully the drywallers will be done tomorrow. Than we can get started painting the walls. The contractor wants the carpets to be laid next Monday. He wants to rush us as we took the painting part of the job away from him. I'm not going to have the insurance pay some one else to paint when I have been painting the church and my DD's house for her. Not to mention I'm really fussy about it.
