susan, i understand about old dog!!! love to see your smile first thing on the thread!
last nite i listed some books on amazon.com for sale and i sold one!! a friend had suggested how simple the process is and wow!!not to sound greedy but i hope the rest sell! these are mostly my massage school text books...we all know how much text books can cost and some i never even opened! i want to get rid of them!

yesterday at work was good-it went well once we were able to get on our server-took 47 minutes-grrr---

found out bossman was rushed to ER in an ambulance over the weekend-dunno why but he is back home with his family and alexa...wow....

made a vet appt for roxiethewonderdog's microchip and bloodwork to start her quarantine for the move! she'll go on thursday after i get off work.she is such a cutiebugg all cuddled up next to me sleeping like a baby when i woke up this morning..she knows something is going on-they all do!

weather men have predicted possible storms and rain for us for a few days- we have had none- could use some water as i'm sure many others on here could! it has been nice having the cooler temps!

well-nothing else on my mind-hugs and prayers....

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Hi Margo-
Sorry to be behind times, but where are you moving to that your doggie must be quaranteed?  When we lived in England ours had to stay in 'puppy isolation' for 6 months.  My dog is having a major emotional crisis.  Poor baby.  First, her companion, her daddy dog, died whilst they were taking a naps a few weeks ago.  She howled endlessly for him.  The next day my aunt in WY died and we had to take her to the boarding kennel.  We came home and started packing boxes and causing extreme chaos in her house.  Between barking at all strangers and moaning to be let out so she can attach herself to my chest, she continues to be bewildered and confused.  We sign off on our house Thursday and turn over the keys on Saturday morning if at all possible.  Then she'll be in a carrying kennel in the car and motel for 2 days, a night in a stranger's house then 10 days in another boarding kennel whilst we search for a new home to rent and start building our new house.  Anyway, I am quite sure she'll need a doggie psychiatrist by then.  Hope all goes well with your moving.
Cheers,
Daffy

rusty; i feel for your "baby"--all the chaos!
my rox is attached to my chest right now which makes typing quite the chore!
we are moving to the big island of hawaii-and there are no rabies on any of the islands so they have this blood test and quarantine thingy- 120 days in house-used to be in a kennel on oahu that you paid for!!!!!

My DIL has been selling a lot of her school books on Amazon too.  The most expensive ones, from her doctorate she's keeping for reference.  It's amazing how much student loans you can accumulate when you have absolutely no support from paarents, not even moral support, but that's another story altogether.  I've been acting Mom to her since she was 13 or 14...

wow we had a very loud thunderstorm roll thru here about 5 am....dumped almost another inch of rain on us. ...at least im not having to water flowers and veggies.  want to get some of the garden pulled up like thed  cabbage plants or rather leaves i have already pulled all the cabbage out or off of them....need some space in there to plant my fall garden,...have spag squash up big enough to transplant  and butternuts too.  both are good winter squash, they keep really good.
my okra is looking good and is up about waist high on me....I love okra well i use to love it fried but since we cant eat it like that will cut it up and put it in freezer for adding to things.  i may pickle some of it too.
have to get an area cleared for turnips and mustard, and spinach too. My tomatoes are ripening at a fast rate now. yesterday i got 23 ripe ones to do something with. will take some to my friends when i go to town today.....and will freeze some too for soups and chilis later on. Need to go to the feed store and get more chicken feed. and that is about my day. have a great day everyone. it is suppose to only get to 70 here today....nice.

Jan, I'm not an Okra girl but a couple of my friends were discussing how good it was grilled with just a little olive oil on it.  Might want to try it if you have a grill.

The storm that rolled through Jan's is now blasting through here. LOL.  I miss seeing the day break because of the clouds, I'm just seeing darkness.  Today I will be at school for the biggest part of the day.  I am also going to do my walking and biking at the gym there because of the rain and the heat.  When the weather gets so hot and humid, I do everything inside.  Mostly I am looking at my students' papers.  This group has a couple of really good writers a few average and two that I swear I don't know how they got to be seniors.  I, though, will not stand in their way of graduation. LOL.  But...they will re write those papers to a passing grade.

My kitty really missed me when I was travelling about and she cannot leave me alone.  She is in my lap, or on my laptop, or meowing for my affection almost all the time.  Now here's the kicker, we are getting a new kitty and are waiting for her to be old enough to leave her mother.  Ginger is going to be in a state of shock when she realizes the little kitty is going to be living here.  She abides visitors because she knows they will eventually leave.  Mathew named our new kitty Penny.  Penny and Ginger.  I just hope they love each other because I won't abandon either and will just have to live in a house with to fighting Kitties.

You guys have a great day.

Good morning, ya'll!

I do believe I am done with Texas!  My Sis and I did Mom's probate, had the HHG packed and shipped to our addresses, turned off the phone and net, and turned in the apartment keys.  All that's left is to get our money back from the retirement place.  It's 10% of what they paid to move in 16 years ago.  It could take months.  Then we have to do Mom's taxes in January, and see what impact this entire thing will have on OUR OWN taxes!

While I was in Texas I discovered a tick having a great time nestled under my right breast at my bra line.  That little bugger DID NOT want to let go, but Sis convinced him.  I called my doc and he prescribed doxycycline for 10 days as a preventive thing.  The tick had to have been there for 5-7 days before I found him.  I hate this antibiotic because it makes all my food taste nasty.  Plus it is so big.  The last two days it has felt 'stuck' when I take it.  It takes me about 3 hours for it to 'go through'.  I had been taking it with warm liquid and my DH suggested that the warm stuff was 'melting' the gel cap before it got through, and causing the stuck.  So this AM I did room temp water.  Still stuck feeling.  Luckily I can still eat anything else, once this goes through.  Except it all tastes so awful.  That is good for the weight loss though.

Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Be careful of those ticks. A friend of mine has Lyme disease. She didn't find out about it until after ... didn't realize she had a tick (but she lives in Northern Wisconsin where there's a lot of wood ticks and deer ticks). She had extreme fatigue, muscle aches ... thought maybe she had the swine flu, she was so tired (she actually had a triple whammy ... Lyme, low thyroid and pernicious anemia (B-12 deficiency). She is on a 2-week dose of antibiotics now, but sometimes it can take a longer dose to kill Lyme. Those ticks are really nasty.
