Denied; appeal?

I was denied today by my insurance company for the rny. After I cried from disappointment, I went to see the insurance person at the bariatric center. She was very helpful and is willing to help with the appeal. I called 3 different doctors and they will all help by writing a letter of medical necessity.
I started out feeling hopeless, but now I am back to it!
Please pray the appeal works.

What reason did they give for denying you?  I got "denied" at first but it was just cuz I hadn't completed the required 3 month diet.  Once I did that, no problem.

The reason they gave was that I had not completed a 6 month physician supervised diet and exercise program. I sent them a letter from the dietician on hospital stationary, but they said it was not clear that the dietician led the class. The letter had her signature and credentials, but that wasn't good enough. (I'm not bitter or anything .
The insurance rep from the bariatric clinic was wonderful She is writing the appeal letter and told me exactly what she needed from me.
Thank you all for your support, well wishes, and prayers. I need all the encouragement I can get. I really felt helpless when I got the answer yesterday. I feel like I will make it through thanks to your support, and the support of my family.

That sounds like a super easy fix.  Don't sweat it, sounds like you'll be approved once they get THEIR ducks in a row.

DO NOT give up and walk away- that is what ins companies want ....

It sounds like you have the support of your doctors for the appeal.  Don't stop until you are approved.  Lots of luck to you!
