MET MY NEW PCP TODAY

and i like her alot!!! she is knowledgeable of WLS people and that is a good thing....;-) she is sending me for a bone density scan and go from there to work on my pains i am having. i go for the bone scan and also mamogram on the 4th of august and then the pap test on the 18th. she wants me to see a gyn dr because they are more thourough than she would be. she wants me to see that gyn dr because of my mom and sister both having had cancer of the vulva. i agreed with her that that would benefit me best then. i also asked her about my toe and she looked at it and said i was doing the right thing by cutting away the nail as much as i can and applying the peroxide to the area and letting it bubble out the gunk. i also told her i applied the vicks vapo rub and she said good. she told me it would never go away completely even if i took drugs which i can't because it would be an nsaid and i can't take those. so she said keep doing what i am doing. she also gave me a tetnus shot along with a booster for whooping cough. arm is hurting me some but so far tolerable. i asked her about the pain in my top area of elbow and she told me to get one of those bands to wear below the elbow...its tendonitis or tennis elbow i have. oh goody....she said wait til the results come back on the bone scan and we will go from there on the knee pain. ok. she wanted me to have blood work done but i told her i had a complete blood work done not long ago and she said great...she would get the results from dr foote who did my WLS. i was also weighed and i was up 10 pounds!!! i about flipped out!!! sooo i am back to basics starting tomorrow!!! i do not want to get over 200 pounds again and right now i am closer to 200 than what i want to be!!!! so tonight i will get my exercise machine out and use it and also toss out the treats i have been into like i shouldn't be!!!! dr asked me how much exercise i was getting in and i told her anywhere from 5-10 miles a day when i was at work. she said wow thats great....so i guess i have to do more walking and step up the exercises at home to get this weight moving out again!!!! i am ashamed of myself getting this weight back on!!! i have been through sooo much in the 2 1/2 years i have been out and i sure don't want to go back to eating wrong again!!! i am a foodaholic and always will be....i hope that i can count on all my friends here on OFF to help me keep on track again.

Judy, I am so glad that you liked your new doctor. I find it easier to go to a woman...they understand us so much better than men do. Makes sense since they are just like us! ha ha   I think she sounds like someone who is very down to earth and that makes it easy....sometimes I think that doctors go overboard at times with these new and expensive tests. Sometimes they want to take a test for a hang nail...or so it seems. I have found that when you find a doctor that you like and feel that you can trust you have to keep them....and I am sure that you know that too.

And trust me on this one....I am a foodaholic too and always will be. Just because I am smaller now doesn't mean that it wouldn't come back and in full force too. I could gain every bit of what I lost in a heartbeat....I wish that it was so easy to lose it as it is to gain it. Wouldn't that be nice????

hey brenda!!! i was leary of going to a woman dr as i have never had one i cared for...but this one is GREAT!!! atleast so far anyhow!!! LOL i just hope that i continue to like her down the road!!

since seeing that i am up 10 pounds i am scared to death of regaining the weight i lost!!! i told rick no more eating fried foods all the time and no more chips and other forbidden food for me!!! so i now have a man that will abide by my wishes to stay away from those things and he will help me get this weight off!!! see he really does love me and will help me get back to basics.... ;-)

and yes it would be nice to get the weight off as fast as we put it on....but we know that will never happen!!!!

hope you get your sore healed up faster than its been doing...seems strange to me its taking so darn long to heal up!!

Judy....sounds like you picked a really great PCP...good for you. I am sure you are much relieved to be having everything checked out once again.

hi connie!!!! i asked around for a good pcp and this dr's name came up several times so i called and made an appointment and man it took me a few months to get in to see her!!! so glad that she was worth the wait!!! and yes it feels pretty good to finally have a dr that really cares about me and my health the right way!!!

i sure will let you all know what the results are soon as i get them.

glad to see that you are getting better also....now did you break your hip because of being low in vitamin d or no?? sorry if you posted this before but with ricks pc being so darn slow i can't read all the posts because i run out of time....grrrrr

My calcium/vitamin levels are good...I am also on Fosomax. The surgeon said I hit the hip just right...or wrong depending how you look at it. I am getting around really well now....thank goodness!!

Kyleigh is doing great....she is working hard on her issues and has advanced several levels already. She got to come home again last weekend.It is nice to hear her laugh again!!

Nic is doing good too considering he is in Memphis at St Judes again. He has to go through the whole mess of tests and treatments. Some are very painful. He is a trooper and never complains....my HERO!!! Two more trips of going through this yet then the treatments are over. Then we wait to see if it has helped get rid of the cancer for good!!

Nice chatting with you again....we never seem to get a chance to do that anymore.

i feel bad for nic but st judes is a wonderful place for him to be treated and miracles do happen there!!!! i will continue to pray for him....i just heard from a friend of mine and her cancer is back again after all she has been through...she had stem cell and alot of other stuff done and has been in remission for over a year and it got her through taking care of her sick husband and sorry to say he passed a few months ago and now she is sick again with this cancer and needs radiation again and not sure what else...she is a fighter and i am not sure if she will fight as hard this time seeing bob is no longer there for her...she said she is in GODS hands now for whatever will be.

i miss our chats also connie...hey did you see my post awhile back about trying your bourbon sauce on the chicken?? YUMMMMMMY!!!!!! thanks again for sending it to us!!!
