Thursday - what's happening with you?

Hi  -  I thought that it might be fun to start this thread today.
I am off for the summer, but I have been kept busy with appointments related to wls.  I've seen the social worker, dietician, internist, surgeon and now I have to see the surgeon again, have my PATS done and get a surgery date.  It's taken more than a year for me to get to this point, and I am ready for the surgery.
In the meantime, I am having some work done around my house and spending time relaxing and reading.   It won't be long before I start to prepare for the fall semester, so I am getting in as much fun stuff as I can now because, once the term starts, there will be no fun for me!
I will try to come back later  -  talk amongst yourselves!
Margaret
I'll try to get some prices here in Canada of our groceries and post them - you will be amazed at the prices that we have to pay!

Hi Margaret and Off,
I saw firsthand how much your groceries cost Margaret. I was amazed... and your alcohol was VERY expensive too!
My Fall semester starts on August 7th. The summer was a blink of the eye. We did a lot though, with the trip to Canada as the highlight.
I just got back from San Francisco. My oncologist appt. and tests were all good. I did my shopping and lots of walking. I met with a physician that is doing a multi-media presentation on WLS. He has chosen me to be one of his interviews. So in about a year I might be on NPR or some other news show.
I signed up for a scrapbooking convention this afternoon- I go with a teacher friend- we stay three days and enjoy it very much. It's our last hurrah before school starts up again.
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

Hi Julia,
I'm so glad to hear your tests came out OK. I didn't remember you were a scrapbooker. I have been working on 2 scrapbooks that I have to have finished by Saturday. My sister and I have talked about going to one of the conventions in Seattle, but have never followed through. Let me know how you like it.
I listen to NPR every morning so I will be waiting to hear you!

My wife does bunches of scrapbooking.  She has taken over two rooms in our house.  A former bedroom and our sunroom.  She has a club that meets every Friday morning.  About 6 of them get together and work on their scrapping.  Some don't come every week, but my wife is there almost always.  And they rotate houses, each person gets it for a month straight.  They have a grand old time.

George,

So that explains the gorgeous Christmas cards that she made.  So beautiful and so appreciated.  Wish I had her talent.

Hi Julia,

Glad to hear your tests came out good!  Congrats about being selected for the multi-media presentation too!
