Getting my toe wet!
O.K. so I've been in denial and will admit to hanging out mostly with a very young crowd....so, feel very young myself. But, Miss gorgeous Linda from AZ mentioned this forum and so I'm going to stick my toe in and see if I can enjoy this next faze of life graciously!!!
about me:
I had Prox Rny 2/11/03 and got to goal. Stayed there for a while then began regaining and co-morbids were returning soooooo,.,.,,I had a revision to Extended Rny on 12/27/07. I lost my regain plus some and have been hanging in the same weight zone (maintenance, I think?!!! LOL!) for over a year.
I've had some issues and continue to fight the vitamins/supplement demands that my body now has. I keep Vitalady in business with orders!
I work as a Post Bariatric Program Coordinator for a Scottsdale Plastic Surgeon. I"m the wife of a WLS post-op who I think is a gorgeous honey bunches, am the mom of 4 who are all married and my #5 grandbaby is due in Feb of 2010!!! Life is great! I keep very active in the Bariatric world and am often planning an event or get together of some type for the peeps. I facilitate 4 support groups in the Phx area and attend as many as 3 or 4 support groups a week! (need a 12 step support group to overcome my addiction to support groups!)
I travel a lot cuz of my hubby's job (US Airways) and enjoy adventures galore cuz of newfound health and body size!!! Anyone going to the Seattle O.H. event??? I may pop in just FUN!
I love the accountability posts on here so I'll tag onto those if y'all don't mind. .... I don't want to freak anyone out though so I'll give a warning ahead of time! I eat a lot! My revision increased the malabsorption but left my stretched stoma and pouch alone. So, I EAT EAT EAT!!! lOL! I have 3 to 6 protein drinks a day and then pretty much eat whatever food protein and low glycemic fruits and veggies that I want. I eat gluten free to keep the bloating and gas calmed down. It works for me.
I'll just lurk for a bit til I get to know this boards personalities......and slowly learn how to embrace & ENJOY being 50+ years old!

Joyce, Welcome to OFF! I had Lap RNY in 2005. Lost almost 200 lbs. Have regained about 15 lbs and am recommitting to the gym, exercise, and working on my head! I do NOT want to go back to 377 lbs and it is possible. I think you'll like it here. Stick around and get to know us and let us get to know you.

Thanks for the welcome Karen C, Ruth, Debbie, Suzette50 and Connie d !!!!
I'll read through the "getting to know you" thread and browse through the other stuff!
Good luck to those of you on deck, those who are waging the daily battles of losing and maintaining and those who have the BIG stuff going on!!!!
My "back on track" focus is going to be strength training.
I'm a whiimp! After my 1st WLS, I was training for and entering events and since my revision; I've just kind of done the "mall workout"! LOL! .....
I REALLY need a personal trainer to kick my rear back into gear!
The OFF group huh?
Too cute!!!

Nice to see you here. So, what are we doing next year? Pre or post conference?
Please set dates that are below 100 like this year, ok?
So, you'd like it to be UNDER 100 degrees? Then we'll definitely have to plan PRE conference ....like say, 4 months PRE!!! ..... OR POST conference would work too if it were about 5 months post!!
sorry sweetie! We "is" HOT here in Phoenix!!!
Am I helping you at the Seattle O.H. event? sleeping bag on your floor? Vitamins stocked in my backpack before I head back to the triple digit home on the range?
C U soon in cooler temps!
