Hi Linda,
Any lettuce makes me throw up.  My sister did not believe me until she saw for herself.  Even spinach does that.  I really like salads and miss them.  I was able to eat two tablespoons of cooked collard greens.  Delicious.  I wish there was a salad I can eat.  How are you my friend?

Linda,

My dogs hate thunder and lightning too.

Well, my story about diagnosing my possible band slip has a happy ending.  A few hours after I delivered my letter about my upper GI radiology report to the hospital administrator, I received an apologetic call from some guy in radiology (not the radiologist) apologizing and assuring me that my band is in the correct position.  This morning I picked up a copy of the amended report that states this.  I'm sending a copy of it, plus the CD with the upper GI images, to my bariatric surgeon because I don't have a lot of confidence at this point that the local radiologist would recognize a gastric band even if someone fastened it around his you-know-what (they probably don't make bands small enough to fit, though).  So I feel pretty chipper today.  All that remains now is to ask my surgeon if my hiatal hernia ought to be repaired, and get some fill put back in this band of mine.

Jean,
That banana split sounds delicious, I am going to fix it for me.  How do you make your crab cake and your peanut butter dip?  You may have posted it before but, I missed it.

Thanks,
JOY

Joy,

Here's the PB2 Dip: http://jeanslapbandjourney.blogspot.com/search?q=PB2+Dip  It is so good!

Here's the crab cake recipe: http://jeanslapbandjourney.blogspot.com/search?q=crab+cakes  I prefer these made with cracker crumbs but breadcrumbs work fine too.

I don't think that your combination of eggs and cauliflower is odd at all.
I love cauliflower and eat it raw all the time.  My dogs love it too and get some on their kibbles along with broccoli, baby carrots and even a little lettuce.
You didn't say if the cauliflower was raw that you have with the egg, but I think that it probably is.  Whenever I make a salad, which is very often, I add cauliflower and broccoli along with the lettuce and love it.  I think that more people would eat cauliflower if they were to try it raw and not stinky as it is when cooked, not to mention sometimes mushy  ewwwwwwwwwww

I actually cook the cauliflower a little.....not soft (don't like it soft and mushy), still has a lot of crunch to it.  The easiest way to do it is.......saute an onion in a little olive oil ..once they are translucent I dumb a whole bag of frozen cauliflower and turn the heat up on the pan a bit.  I pop a lid on and let it cook for a couple mins.  The cauliflower warms up and because it was frozen the water kind of softens it just slightly....with the high heat the cauliflower actually browns a little.
Then I turn it off, sprinkle on a little (not even an 1/8 of a cup) plain breadcrumbs, drizzle with olive oil and top with red pepper flakes put the lid on and it's done.  I peel and chop the hard boiled eggs and pull together whatever else we are having with it while it sits warming in the pan...(with the lid on it softens the breadcrumbs and pepper flakes too).
The whole thing takes about 10 mins but that includes chopping the onion and cooking it down first.

Hope you like it if you try it.

Bon' appetite!
