We loved her so much.  She was born on my son's bed and never knew anyone but us.  She used to give him baths. LOL.  Anyway, the vet wanted us to put her to sleep a year or so before we finally did but we just couldn't do it.  She got where she couldn't jump up on the bed or sofa. We helped her and if she was on the sofa and someone sat down and disturbed her, she would give the what for.  But, she just got so weak and started losing her sight and we finally had no choice.  It was a sad day in our house.  She is buried in the backyard down in the valley and the kids, who were grown by then, made her a wonderful headstone and put up a fence around her grave.  Oh yeah.  My daughter puts flowers on it and keeps the weeds off.  Iknow, a little weird.  Anyway, that was our family cat.  Then, okay, this is weird, cat history.  Then, I had Boots, who I got when the old cat was about five or six.  Boots ended up with cancer and when he was around twelve or so had to be put down.  There was no treatment.  His cancer had no symptoms and then one day I noticed that his lips were yellowish. Took him in and they found advanced liver cancer.  We kept him for about three or four months and he just went down hill and had so much pain that we had him put down too.  He is buried next to the other cat with the same respect and same fence and headstone. LOL.  Our dog tippy is there too.  My daughter said if we ever sell the house, she is digging them up and taking them with us.  LOL.

Hey, I have Kittle and Cinnamon's cremains on my fireplace mantle. Loved those cats ... they were hunters! They killed yellowjackets that got into my house in South Dakota. And they stalked a gecko (or a newt) in my house in Georgia ... killed it, too, or just about (and this is when Kittle was diabetic and just coming back from being very lethargic). I didn't let them eat it, though ... just let them play with it for awhile, then threw it outside.
Kittle chased a mouse behind the stove when I lived in South Dakota (very cold winter ... all winters are in SoDak) and the next morning, I went to empty the sink where I left dishes to soak, put my hand in there and pulled out ... you guessed it, a dead mouse. I called it my watery grave. Then I showed Kittle ... you were supposed to kill this! He sniffed at it as if to say, "It's dead, what do you want me to do now?"

I would be glad to have Fluffy give your furbabies hunting lessons!
She's a terrific hunter - problem was she wanted to bring them to me in the house --- mostly alive!!!  Don't know how many times I chased a
poor chipmunk around the house trying to catch it.   We don't have that problem anymore now that she is confined to the house and
can't go outside to hunt.

We have several cats here   they have started going outside to play.   We live in a safe area for them so thats fine  till they start bringing me gifts from outside!  one of the kittens is always trying to bring in a mouse or a baby rabbit!,

I live on a very busy highway so I keep Kitty inside.  Also, we have rabbits in our backyard and they have babies and I don't want her freaking them out.  We are getting our kitty a new kitty sister and hope that she won't be so needy.  As soon as I walk in the door, she begins mewoing for me to sit so she can get in my lap and she doesn't want me to move. I become her bed. LOL.  So, I think a sister might make her less dependent upon us for her affections. Although, I do like her being so sweet, but I want herr to have a sister too.

Hi Annette,
You are a much bravery woman than I am.  I don't think I could scoop up a live mouse and toss it outside.....let me correct that....I know I could not do it!

Hope you have no more excitement like this today....

It is better to scoop and toss rather than find it crawling around in bed.

The mice don't bother me but snakes --- I scream loud enough to wake the neighborhood.

I must admit if I ever had a snake in the house I'd move out.
I'll take the mouse over the snake any day.  But please God keep them out of my house!!!!!!!

Your brave hunters! I think mine wouldn't know what to do with it, they're so lazy. Now Diva would! But Scooter and Nettie ... I have never seen two lazier cats.
