OT: Baseball stuff enclosed - Attention Eileen
Wanted to congratulate you and your fellow White Sox fans. Not only did Buehrle pitch a perfect game, but you moved into first place. Great catch in the 9th inning. Grand slam earlier in the game.
He is not a fan favorite in Texas, ever since his whining that he felt the Rangers had someone in the centerfield office buildings stealing his signs. As bad as this club was, if we were doing that bad stealing signs, how bad were we really?
Regardless, I love a no-hitter or a perfect game. It excites the fans. And the Rays were real classy after the game, standing on the top step of the dugout applauding him. I love for kids to see that.

It was a great game, George ... I got to watch the whole thing. I love Buehrle ... I think he's really a classy guy (didn't know about the stealing signs whining, oh well, everyone has issues somewhere). I like his work ethic, his humbleness, his commitment to team, especially in 2005 when they won the World Series and he was willing to come out of the bullpen in the extra-inning game. He was a low-round draft pick (something like 36th round) and wasn't projected to be much of anything, but has made himself into a great pitcher with just an average fastball.
And yes, the Rays were really classy, too. It was funny at work, since I'm in the middle of Tiger country here. We were talking about the game and the catch, and the Tiger fans said, "Well, it was an OK catch, but (Curtis) Granderson's catch was better, he jumped higher." I said that the cir****tances made Wise's catch more important, therefore a better catch. We agreed to disagree. it will be an interesting weekend at work (I work tonight and tomorrow night). Will have to wear my Sox T-shirts both days.
