Does anyone know of a good Scar cream, gel, or tape that helps reduce the redness and keeps the scar flat?
I recently heard of a tape used on the scar but it requires a prescription (it's not the silicone strips)...I just can't remember what it was called. It anyone knows what it is I'd sure appreciate you letting me know.
Thanks!!

Hi, I don't think I've ever posted on this board and haven't really posted regularly in over a year but I have used the tape you are talking about. It is called Cordran. I scar horribly and after my arm lift, the scars were red and raised. The Cordran tape REALLY helped flatten them out. I am now going through laser treatment in hopes of fading the redness. My doctor, a laser expert, said the silicone strips do well but they are hard to keep on your arms. I recommend trying the Cordran tape. It does NOT fall off! However, depending upon where you are applying it, you may need help. My husband has to do my arms.

I appreciate your help!!
I appreciate your help!!
mederma burned me. I used Scargo to take down the red, but it does not prevent or cure a keloid. I am a keloid former, so my derma took care of smooshing down the red rope.
There is a thing you can buy roughly shaped like your scar. Pretty cool, kinda spendy. But I used this and Scargo (one bottle last you for life!) on my broken arm scar. All of it faded back except the "hinge" where it came around my shoulder to top of arm. I couldn't get anything to adhere, no way, no how. It bends. But the top and bottom of the scar are poof, gone.

P.S. My year + long absence has NOTHING to do with my WLS, or my type of WLS. See my profile.
i have just given up, my body has soooooo many scars by now
the funny thing is some have healed beautifully and others not so
well and i cant figure out why.
i have tried vitamin E oil, mederma and some other scar stuff, but
it seems that some just do well on their own and others do not.
go know, as my gf says
be safe and well, jacki

none are really ropey because i have always worked on them till they
flatten out, but some are definitely more pronounced then others
for example from my accident in december, the one scar where the
big break was on my ankle is red and not fading well, where the one
on the other side of the foot is hardly visible .
my hysterectomy scar, is hardely visibe, that is a side to side scar
others are hit and miss
the lap ones from my surgery three years ago, left two spots that dont
look good at all. while the other 4 faded pretty well.
so i think with my body its a crap shoot
