My visit to the I.D. Doctor....
I went to the Infectious Disease doctor this morning and she is so nice. She looked at my list of allergies to sulfa and LOTS of anti biotics and she shook her head and said "No! No! No!" Then she looked at me and said that I better start praying that I see her only at the Wound Center. I at first didn't get what she meant and then realized that she meant rather than in the hospital as a patient. So if you would please say prayers, send good thoughts, swing those chickens around, or do a dance nekkid if that is what it takes then PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do it. I really need it right about now.
I felt very comfortable with the doctor and the nurses. I felt they were compassionate and competent and that is a big load off my mind. I think that she is a very knowledgeable doctor and feel totally confident in her and her staff.
I called the cardiologist to see about this affecting the cardiomyopathy. I talked to the nurse and she said as long it is contained right now I am alright but if that it goes farther we might have problems but we will cross that bridge if and when we get to it. She said that she made the doctor aware of the problem and that made me feel pretty good. She said that it can be long and drawn out and if I.V. anti biotics are needed they could go on for a long time. She said that they had one patient that had to have them for 2 and a half years. I told her what I told everyone else...I am prepared to do what I have to do to get through this.
So...that is the update on me and my infection. I will get through with the help of everyone and their prayers and good thoughts. Thanks so much just for all of you being you!

Oh Brenda.....I really hate to hear this for one of my favorite "sistahs". You know you have my prayers, good thoughts and even if it means I need to dance "nekkid" in the streets (awful visual for you and my neighbors though). I wish you the best. Keep that chin up and those smiles on your face. Attitude is everything, you know.
We're all here for you, you know how to find us.
Big ole hugs!

Thanks so much, Eileen. I know what you are saying. I appreciate it so much. Tell your babies I said hello and send a loving pat on the head. I am working on Misty to see if she will take a spin but so far no luck. I am going to let her know if I am sick she can't depend on her Daddy for food and water as well as Momma. That should do the trick. She may be snooty but stupid she isn't!

Brenda,
Sorry to hear about your problem. Glad you liked the doctor. I sure hope it gets better soon and you won't have to go through this for 2+ years.
Sending good vibes your way.........have no chicken in the house but I'll swing a salmon for you.......

Hey Ruth, salmon might work...let's give it a try. I love salmon and so it might take that into consideration. Let it know that I am a big fan...but then again I might have indulged with one of it's friends so maybe you better not. I will just take good vibes...they will sure work! Thanks again...and how are you feeling? I hope good and know that I am keeping you in my prayers.
Dear Brenda:
The bad news is that you have that darned infection but the GOOD news is that you have an excellent doctor that you can feel trust in and that's awesome.
I'm sending prayers, healing thoughts and spinning LilyRose around in circles ('cause she loves that anyways). And for EVERYONE'S sake, I promise to NOT dance nekkie in the streets.
You CAN and WILL get thru this, Brenda! We are all here for you! *hugs*
