Thursday Thread
What has made me happy recently? Several little things. In a 7 day period, I bought $15 in scratchoff lottery tickets and collected $80.
We had car problems. Check engine light. Figuring no matter what, it will cost me $300-400 minimum. Starts with the analysis for $85, then repairs. Had Mary take the car to Autozone, they run the analysis free. Had her take the analysis to our regular mechanic. He really wanted to run another analysis, but Mary told him he should not have to, she has the printout from just a few hours before. So he looked it over. Said he needed to order the part, he would call when the part came in. Meantime, we can still drive the car. Jus****ch the temperature gauge. We had no problems. Two days later he calls. Now, normally, we bring it up there, we use a loaner from him, or on the occassions he has no loaner, we rent a car at discount rates from Budget. So, Mary went up there. He told her have a seat. One hour later she was on her way, with a bill totalling $115. I smiled. Spending money made me happy that day.
Things are going okay on my side of the world. Niki is still in town, but she will be at her Mary Kay convention for the next few days. Saturday night we will go out to eat together. Plus I have Ranger games the next two nights. So, I will be back when I can.

Hi Jan and my OFF family:
Was checking for my payroll deposit. It would make me happy to see it, because it is supposed to have nine hours of OT on it. But it's not there yet. Oh well, later this morning.
Congrats on selling the house. That's tough in this market, especially in Michigan. As for the PB and crackers, well, I was on liquids for two weeks and then soft foods the next two weeks before even trying solids, but every doctor is different. Your pouch is still new, so take it easy.
What's made me happy lately? Well, the White Sox are stinking up the place, my finances are stinking up the place (although this week should be better****ep gaining weight, my cats threw up twice tonight (although yesterday one pooped outside the box ... nothing like that tonight), my knee hurts, my hair is getting too long and really needs a cut if I can afford it ... buy hey, it's nearly Friday, which means I'll have three days off, so that makes me happy (after I worked six days last week). It's been a crappy week so far. I hate getting nasty messages from coworkers about all the things I do wrong. We are all learning on the new system, so seeing one of my pages all marked up in big orange marker wasn't something I enjoyed seeing this afternoon when I came into work. I don't usually throw other people's mistakes back at them, unless they can obviously learn from them.
Ah well, enough complaining. Time to go to bed. I'm tired. The webinar this morning was really boring, ran a half hour longer than it was supposed to and really didn't tell me all that much that I didn't know (I hope they will give us cheat sheets, though; this isn't launching for another week, and I only post about once a week).
Have a good day.

Sorry to be so crabby ... there's plenty I'm thankful for ... just nothing I'm really happy about right now. Well, I got paid today and it was a nice check ... so I guess that makes me happy. And it's nearly Saturday, and I'll have three days off with nowhere to go, nothing to do, so that makes me happy.
Well I have had a great couple of days babysitting.
Today I am off to my surgeons (5 hour drive) for my checkup (almost 9 months) and then to Watertown, NY to go to the Renaissance Fair in Sterling on Saturday. Should be fantastic... this is our 3rd year of going.
Will be back on the boards on Monday.

caution about the crackers --i know- i know - we sound like curmudgeons...we just hate to see anyone suffer like we maybe did...maybe just a small tsp of pb on a spoon? the other thing like karen says you can so easily slide into eating them too often!mini pretzels were a huge downfall for me....how about some melon or a peach? that is good carb and also calories.... it all falls into place for you soon!
karen-yes kinda TMI yet a small wow at the same time-when we were in panama one of my gripes was that there was no where for a woman to potty!!!
nothing really new- i posted my rant about my neighbor last nite--
spent about a good two hours cleaning in the basement- 4 huge boxes for goodwill and 4 boxes of trash...and i have hours of cleaning to go!!!! i was getting to the boxes where i need to sit down and sort thru each thing and decided i couldn't take that time last nite---
as i mentioned we have two emails of inquiry i need to respond to them- one asked for a showing -the other for more pictures--we haven't really taken good inside pics-ouch! i spoke with the young neighbor last nite whose boss is interested -told him we have someone looking so get his boss in gear!!!
found out we can't haul a trailer full of goods to the boat and leave the goods IN the trailer so back to the drawing board on that aspect of moving our stuff...trying so hard NOT to get a container....
alexa is still in the hospital - her BP has skyrocketed and meds aren't relieving it-their family is asking for prayers still...her mom's birthday is today too...
need to hit the shower and get gorgeous!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
- E. B. White
Jan - go slowly with the crackers and peanut butter.
What has made me very happy? The people I have met though the OFF board. Once strangers, now reaching out, offering support and caring.
We don't just talk about WLS, we talk about life in general. Life in general impacts how we deal with WLS, so it is vital to our success.
Enough of the mushy stuff.
Cats - driving me nuts or I was nuts to adopt them? We had a rough day. Isabella wanted to be combed and yowled for attention. Annie wanted to play fetch and complained (loudly)with Tony's teddy in her mouth that she expected me to play. Jimmy was upset because the white food dish was getting low - his favorite dish - so he peed in the kitchen sink. Tony wanted my lap - all day long - even while I was on the potty. Nicki wanted to be held and kept crawling up my leg. Rebecca just *****ed for no apparent reason - she's the resident whiner. Abigail curled up on a clean dish towel but that was fine. My white bathroom tiels show evidence of fleas. Can't SEE fleas on black cats but today I'll have to mortgage the house and get flea treatment from the Vet.
The final insult was when I turned on the stove to cook dinner. Somebody peed on the stove. The fumes were revolting and I had to go outside while the house aired out. No appetite for eating.
When Tom came home from golfing I complained. He looked at me and said - fine, we will get rid of them ALL. For a couple of minutes it sounded like a perfect solution. Let's see how today goes. Anybody in need of 7 black cats?
