What we are eating and what's eating us.Wednesday.
Good morning Linda and friends. Linda, I'm so sorry you're having difficulties with your health. With all that's going on around me, I have no reason to complain, but a very minor gripe is coming anyway. This morning I woke with a sore throat (probably caught it from a cowork who WILL NOT stay home when she's sick), and still have the headache that started Monday evening. There, it's out in the open and done with on with life! I did well with food yesterday until our weekly department conference for which I am the hostess - setting up coffee and refreshments. Why a bunch of doctors think they need cookies, coffee cake, donuts, or some such trash every Tuesday at their conference is a mystery to me. The doctor who supplied the goodies brought non-chocolate cookies, oatmeal and ginger snaps. Of course I had to have one of each. Shame on me. George and I had an errand to run immediately after work which took longer than expected. He suggested we find dinner out. All I could think of was I have been wanting to try Kentucky grilled chicken. It's pretty good. I ordered two pieces dark with green beans and cole slaw. Ate both pieces, half the green beans, less than half the cole slaw, and three bites of the biscuit. George ate his and finished mine. Better wrap this up!
B - protein shake
S - protein shake - feels good going down my sore throat
L - Nutri-system soup and cheese
S - protein shake or yogurt
D - either fish or roast and broccoli
S - don't know, probably cheese or a protein shake
Back to work - Debbie

Good morning, Linda.
We are having rainy weather, which is unheard of in July in this area. I know the crops need it, but the constant grey drizzle depresses me.
A long time ago, when I was living in New England, I met a young woman who was going to college there but originally was from Seattle. I asked her how she liked living in New England and she said, "It doesn't rain enough here. It's depressing."
B: multi-grain English muffin w/ salmon spread & tomato slices
S: strawberries stuffed w/ sweetened (Splenda) ricotta cheese
L: egg salad, sesame crackers, tomatoes
S: apple with PB2 dip
D: shrimp & pasta salad, cucumbers
S: plumcots (plum-apricot cross)

Jean,
I have to laugh at your friend from Seattle who said it didn't rain enough in New England. Many natives of Seattle prefer the rain to the heat and cloudless skies,
The last few days have really been unusual for us. Record breaking heat makes it miserable for us here. We keep our windows open in the early morning for the cool air, then close the apt until the cool of the evening. Mom & I stay comfortable but going out can be hard with the heat,
I need to get my food choices under control. Whenever I'm out and about I tend to have problems with the blood sugar levels. After I drop there doesn't seem to be enough food in the house to fill my need/ wanting to eat. I should be doing better planning.
Have a fun, laughter filled day. Greet at least one stranger today ! ! !

Awwww Jean,we need it too,but I understand how it affects you. For one thing, you are a sensitive, you have empathy,a lot of emotions. Try and hang in there. The heck with the electricity, make a room really bright and sit in it,it will help.
I hope it will be over soon, the good Lord is making sure your garden is getting watered.
Do the best you can, this too shall pass.
I hope the doggies are ok,they react to the weather, and probably can not go out to play, also their mommy is not feeling good.

Hi Linda,
I hope your medical conditions are baseline or stable for you...whichever is best.
My scale is broken...it is stuck at the same number...
Pre-B Dakota toast and coffee
B-cottage cheese and blueberries
S-vanilla protein Atkins shake (these are good but maybe too fat?)
L-ham and cheese roll, crackers peanut butter, cherries.
S-watermelon
extra snack, I was hungry and shaky-Greek yogurt, raspberries and kashi
D- shrimp salad and watermelon
S-granola bar and tea
I think I ate too many things....
Have a good day...
Going to a movie for our 9th anniversary and I don't think I will be able to pass on the popcorn....
