Hey There,
It depends on if she is a public school teacher and how long she has been teaching.
Starting out teachers make as little as 28,000 or as high as 32,000 to start.
If she is in a private school it is a lot less.

As a loan officer,I have seen many teacher's salaries, they are generally low, however, they usually have good credit unions, and mortgage incentives, also first time buyer breaks.

Here in Calif, public schools I think as much as $60K with 5 or more years experience.  Each school district has their own pay scale & I think they might be public.   You might call the school district involved & ask what the pay range is.

I can tell you it really depends on the school district.  My son is in a rural area and he doesn't even make 36K after three years.  Other districts start you at that, so it really depends.
It is what it is.
If He brings you to it, He'll bring you through it...

A beginning salary in my school district is $40,000 I think. The higher the cost of living in your area, the higher the salary. Private school is not nearly as high because their teachers don't have to have credentials..

You go to your state's education.org and they will list the starting salries and what each school district pays.  For instance, in Arkansas, a BA certified teacher with no experience can expect to get 23 thousand a year; however, here in NW Ark., they start out at 33 thousand.  An MA, can expect 40,000 and PhD can expect 70 thousand.  That's just for teaching public school and depending upon where and what district.

It depends on the state and locality where they teach. Check out the school's website and look at the Human Resources area. You will find the salary scale on their website. Do not allow her salary to deter you on the decision. They have great benefits.

oh i am not looking only at her salary! i know she is working summer school as well as part time on "the islands" this summer so she is a go getter- --and i have no clue what her other finances are-maybe she had a rich aunt or something!
