I had a coupon from the Entertainment Passbook, buy one, get one free. So for $11 (including tax) we BOTH ate for the entire day.  It lasted us each 3 meals.  And like I said, I did not put that many veggies in (I added potatoes and pineapple).  Everything else was protein.  Chicken, pepperoni, and shrimp.  And I had a lot of chicken and shrimp.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

When I go by myself I get lots of proteins and veggies, then ask them to 1/2 the portion of brown rice. Still good carbs and fiber, just not as much of it. Every now and then I do splurge and get the rice noodles (1/2 again), which are so yummy, just not much value

Isn't it nice to be each other's cheap dates?

Today I'm off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of surgery! !

I'll meet with the surgeon to see about removing the panni.  They only cover the stomach, which is fine with me.   I'm not looking forward to having the surgery but do want it done.  I don't know if he will do any lipo while he is in there.

After that I will head to the commissary for groceries....  WILL NOT GO ON AN EMPTY STOMACH.  lol  costs too much and I end up with lots of "no no's".

For all of you who last year were so willing to share your heat with those of us who don't get much.....  I want to thank you.   I'm thoroughly enjoying the record breaking heat here in the Pacific NW.   I understand if you recall the hot weather back to your area but again, thank you for sharing.  (hee hee)

Technically I still wish you all a good morning since it is still morning here in NW Indiana....almost noon but not yet! So....good morning, George and my OFF family.

The week end went to darn fast for me. I woke up this morning and thought where did the week end go? I hate it when they go so fast.

I had a long talk with BFF Ella. She called and we talked for almost 2 hours. That surprised me. During the summer she is usually so darn busy that we lose track of each other. Then the calls are usually shorter than 2 hours but we had a lot to catch up on. I enjoyed it greatly.

The weather here is nice. It started out sunny but it is raining now. I guess we could use the rain. It sure does smell good though...I have the patio door wide open and it is like a bit of heaven. Nice and cool with rain smells and the tinkling of my wind chime...how much better than that can it get?

I spent 14 hours...you heard right...14...at David's watching the little kids of his. I had such a fun day and night....and if you believe that one I got some land to sell ya too! They were good at times and then they had their moments and I didn't like those moments at all. When the 4 year old came up to me with evil looking eyes (he is not David's boy) and said to me "Don't make me hurt you!" I had a rude awakening...then I looked at him and said that he doesn't scare me and to trust me when I tell him that Aunt Brenda can hurt him way more than he can hurt me. He left and stood on the other side of the room but kept giving the evil eye to me...he is kind of creepy at times. I know that his Mom is nuts and I think his biological Dad is too.....oh dear...maybe he can hurt me! I was so glad to get home. I love my home...it is my refuge!!!! Remind me of that later on alright? I forget that....just tell me to remember the week end with psycho child!!!

Carolyn, my DS is coming over this afternoon to go see about a cell phone. We are getting another line for her on our account. She hardly uses one and I think she needs one. It is costing her $10 a month...she offered to pay for the line. Bill asked if it was going to take from our minutes...he was concerned. I told him that she uses her phone less than I do and we have roll over minutes. We have accumulated over 4,000 roll over minutes so he doesn't need to worry about that for sure.

I went to the library on Friday and got 4 more books and got through 2 of them this week end. So I am doing good on the reading. I have started reading Debbie Macomber and she is fantastic. I wish that I had found her earlier. One of the best authors I have read. I highly recommend her for sure.

I better go...I have babbled on for too long that is for sure. Now it is time for everyone to wake up again.....

I am sending love and hugs to all and prayers are being said for everyone too. Have a great day and don't forget to scatter...that is what we are suppose to do with out lives. There are many ways to scatter...so give it a try!

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Brenda:

My friend Margie loved Debbie Macomber. Thanks for reminding me of her again. I can now think of Margie and not cry ... I just smile now with her memories. I still miss her a lot, but my memories are my comfort. I think she's watching over me in some way.

Brenda,
I would think twice about adding a line to your cell phone. Even if they say it is 10.00 a line, it is way more around 40.00 witht he taxes and such. I added Jared Liz boyfriend and it isnt 10.00 like verizon says. It is around 40.00 to 50.00 per line.
All the cell phone compamies has that option.

Good Afternoon to my OFF family!

Sorry to have been absent for so long.  I was the chair for the Reunion Committee for the Class of 1969.  We have not had a reunion for 15 years.  It was very time consuming, but lots of fun.  The reunion was held on Saturday and we had a good crowd!

I am down a few more pounds, not as many as I would like but at least I am not going up!!!!  Need to watch my diet a bit better, but it has been hard with so many things going on.  My mom is doing ok but I have had her in the hospital 3 times in as many months.  I think a lot of it is due to depressions.  Trying to keep her focused and doing something every day is exhausting!

Other than that all is well with me and mine.  I hope things are going well for all of you!

Hugs,
Vera

Well, I made it thru my first day back at work.....things were piled up but I was able to pretty quickly get everything organized so I could start doing what I do.     Came home, watched my soap and ate my lunch, then took a short nap.   Tonite is support Group meeting at 7 pm. and I'm sure I'll be ready for bed early.

My foot/leg brace will be in tomorrow -- the foot seems some better today, but the toes are still being uncooperative.

We are to get some rain this evening and tomorrow morning.....

Best to all,
Pat R.

Hi George and all my OFF friends,
It's been a busy morning for me - we had our Employee Meeting.  We have two sessions - one at 8:00 a.m. and one at 1:00 p.m. to cover all our time zones.  We have two design centers in India, one in Israel and one in California.  HQ is in Shelton, CT.  We are always playing the "what time is it there" game.  I coordinate the web and teleconferencing along with the slide presentations. It's high pressure because our CEO wants it all to go seamlessly.  I'm glad it's over for the 2nd quarter.
Sat. night my Mom and Sister came over.  We had dinner and then watched a chick flick - "The Women".  It was fun.
Yesterday, first we went and saw our nephew and his 3 week old twins. Holding babies is the best.  Then we went ot Costco and spent $250.  It seems we can't get out of Costco without spending at least $200.  At least I had a list.  We would spend more if we were just browsing.
My granddaughter will be two on Thurs.  They live 5 1/2 hours away but will be stopping by on their way to NJ on Sat.  We will get to have a little celebration with her and give her some presents.  As usual, I couldn't resist getting a little something for my grandsons too.
I'm going to go home early and read.  I've been getting books at the library.
It's going to continue to be busy for me at work this week. Right now I'm reading some Willa Cather.
I've been diarying everything I eat and it seems to be helping.  That and keeping nothing in the house that is a trigger food.  Did a mile on the treadmill at the gym and some repetitions on the ab machines at my lunch hour.
Hugs and well wishes to all who need them.
Bev

Busy weekend around here. Son's girlfriend here for a weekend meeting in town, son coming and going to and from a float trip with friends in Oregon, a close friend's daughter's wedding (outdoors 106 degrees!).

Did get to the gym the past 4 days including today.

Harvesting from our garden finally. Made refrigerator pickles using Splenda: verdict: excellent! Made Zucchini Pie: also excellent. Made Zucchini lasagna: barf! won't make that one again.

Trying to find things besides zucchini bread and cake to make from the plants that are appearing everywhere. Think I'll have enough tomatos to make salsa next week.

Not sure what I'll do with all the cucumbers. Wonder if one can make a sweet relish like for hamburgers and hot dogs using Splenda?

I'm just rambling. It's still over 100 here. Supposed to cool off finally about Thursday. Got Maggie practically shaved today. She feels much cooler I'm sure! I'm going to go get a book and a tall iced tea and relax a bit. Hope you all had a good one.
