I agree with Barbara with regard to calling people names, as you did, when you don't agree with them.  And, yes, this happens on both sides.

Sometimes people have a terminal need to be right,I hope I am not one of them,for that is surely a closed mind.
Keep talking,I will read. I love debates,and it saddens me that they become personal and we lose sight of the issue. This is an old tactic used by parties to distract people from the truth...IMHO.

Jeanie im neither right wing or left wing i have always said that most everything we hear on T.V new is at least half right which means that all we also here is about half wrong. i dont think because it came from nbc or cbs or abc or some independent that it makes them any more right or wrong than another. all are fed what they want them to know and that is it. that report didnt come from a big name new cast show but from a small show of some sort with a person that was talking that had been given to her what she was to say. it is up to us as Americans to decide what is right and what is wrong. NO NUT should have the say for me or you. I dont consider either of us as Nuts ...well maybe i am about some things but who isnt , about some things that is. i was grateful that you gave me the info to hear and see it for myself . Since then i have read a lot of the Bill , not all of it because it is very dry and boreing....and i can see how some people that are against it would take pieces and put them in the wrong context of their story making it Fit their agenda. Most people will never read the bill or even want to they would rather let Big Goverment read it for them and tell them what it says..... I forget who it was that said it bu:  When the goverment is big enough to give you everything you want: it is also big enough to take every thing you have..... and that is so so true....anyway i guess i forgot the rules , again. sorry

There are no rules that I'm aware of.  What makes this news woman more reliable than many of the others is she gives her research citations.  If she says it, she will show where it came from.  Others don't do that.  I simply wanted to show that the agenda for spreading these lies about Obama was to incite fear.  The wingnut comment was to one person and not a part of my original post.  I don't agree with anyone until I have read the facts, done the research, and followed up on what I've read.  But, just because someone sends me an email that says something or posts something doesn't mean that I buy it hook line and sinker; therefore, I always say, make sure what you spread is the unadulterated truth.  It's like the Birther movement:  The republicans will say that he is a citizen that his birthcertificate is real that there was an article in the newspaper announcing his birth; yet, they do not say nothing to those right wing media nuts who say that Obama isn't a citizen.  I'm just saying there are nuts in every group and these nuts spread hysteria and make people, especially old people, fear for their lives.  Now, in American, in this country, do you honestly think that old people would be advised to die; espeically, since Dr. Death is in prison for assisted suicide?  Also, when we go to the ER. what is the first thing they ask?  Do you have a living will?  Is that wrong?  Do we condemn hospitals for suggesting to people to make a moment's decision on whether to do CPR or advanced life support?  Of course we do  not.  Then, why would anyone think that Obama would pass a policy that would have medical people advise or offer old people a way out.  This is one of those moments where I went what? Surely people are not believing this and yes they believe it and yes it is a lie.

There is no such thing as unadulterated truth in government matters. Everyone has an agenda.  We've come to accept that from our leaders as long as it doesn't hurt too many people and especially if the agenda doesn't hurt us personally.

You've missed the point entirely Jeannie.  You are certainly entitled to your opinion, just like anyone else; but when you say you don't want a political debate and then thow out inflammatory comments, it makes me wonder just how much of what you say is based on fact and how much is bravado.

No, you missed the point.  My original post did not inflamme.  I was posting to one of my friends who, by the way, feels pretty much the same as I.  In other words, she and I discuss right wing nuts all the time. Now, for you to read my response to her post and highjack that as me wanting trouble was totally uncalled for.  I did say that word wingnut, but not to you or anyone else.  I said it to one person.  My original post was to point everyone to the debunking of that deather myth.  Geeze, you missed the point in your haste to flamme me.

And I knew that I could count on you and many of the others to, once the facts were there, accept them graciously.  I hate those internet rumors and the organizations that start them.  When I hear a rumor or see something like that, I go on a hunt for the truth.  We all should do that before we become a pawn by those people who are on a mission to upsurp the present administration by lies and more lies. 

I try to research,it is hard to find the truth,and the lies are always there,along with the sensationalism,and I get afraid.
I stopped watching FOX over 2 years ago,but CNN is not much better.
As I told you in the original posting,I would count on you to get me more info.
The crap I was hearing did sound like communism,but of course,I am sure that is what the mass media wanted me to think.
Now I can tell my little group this info,I am very happy. I voted for this man...smile. We call ourselves "The Grey Panthers"...LOL.
