What's New for Tuesday?????

Good morning, ya'll.

I have a grandson at Boy Scout Camp and a grandaughter at Michael Jordon Flight School (basketball camp), this week.  Have been sending out cards, so they get at least one a day.  The GS has always won the contest for the most cards received.  His Mom thought that at 15 he didn't care about that anymore, but apparently he does.  And now that his Great Grandma has passed away, the rest of us have to double our efforts!

As soon as I finish visiting these forums, I AM GOING TO TACKLE MY MOM'S FILE DRAWERS!!!  Do I sound convincing?  I hope so.

My weight is down to 153 and I think I have gone FAR ENOUGH.  I am so ready to get rid of this gall bladder.  If I was just sure WHAT sets it off, I would eat everything else.  But some days one thing will do it, and the next day something else.  So I am eating very little.  I know that isn't good.  But surgery isn't until September 3rd.

Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Work went well yesterday = got organized pretty quickly, and back into doing discharges of mortgages......there are probably 150 pd files waiting to be done and more come in almost daily.

Today is work this morning, get fitted for foot brace at noon, and massage therapy at 4 p.m......that's going to be my day.

Had a really poor turnout for support group last nite -- not sure what's happening there - of the 22 ppl on my list, only 6 showed up.
We did have a fun discussion despite the small attendance.

Have a good day,
Pat R.

Pat R......I am just curious...do you still have to do those stupid exercises???

My surgeon said I have to do them twice a day every day until I see him on the 26th...ggggrrrrrrrrrr!!!!  I am so tired of doing these darn things. I know....they are there to help me but dang!!

Hope your hip isn't causing you anymore pain. Mine still hurts especially with the weather changing.

I limp at times because of the pain. The pain moves around from one area to another....so strange??? I sure hope that goes away. I don't have to use a cane or anything anymore so that is a good thing.

Hope you had a good day....hugs...connie d

Connie:
Yeah I still have to do them everyday, at least till I see the surgeon on the 18th.....No pain in the hip -- actually rolled over and slept on it
for a while in the nite - not long tho'.    The foot problem continues, so I am using a four prong cane outside of the house and my rolator in the house.   I can't see much improvement in the sciatic nerve, but my massage lady today said she can see I am walking better.   Didn't get the brace today -- they didn't order one that was wide enough, so have to go back tomorrow.

Work went fine - got 9 discharges done in my 3 hrs....

Hugs,
Pat R.

Good Morning Carla and Friends,

Woke up bright and early as a jaybird as my mom would say. . . have no idea what a jaybird looks like! at 3:30am. I have a load of canning jars sterilizing in the dishwasher and a load of towels washing. Already had my pills and protein shake.

Nothing big planned for today. The gym at some point this morning, going to a storage unit of a friend with Mike to pick up a patio furniture set that she insists on giving us. She's moving to the Oregon coast and says it will just rust there so she'd like for us to have it. I haven't even seen it so hope it is durable and something that we would want. We have plenty of outside space for furniture so we shouldn't have any trouble putting it to use.

Also received a 30 gallon crock from a friend. Have no idea what they made in those. Kraut perhaps? Whatever it was it was a bunch of it. Maybe it's the base for a moonshine still? Any way, trying to figure out what I'll do with it. Thinking about making a mosaic table top for it. It's so heavy and large that it needs to be outside somewhere. Could even turn it into a fountain pretty easily. Winter project me thinks!

Starting to get tons of cucumbers and tomatos so I'll be trying some Splenda recipes for sweet relish and pickles. Want to fill up all of the empty jars that I have and then I'll put the rest of the tomatos in the freezer. I'll can salsa and tomatos too. I've been hauling these jars around for years. Another carryover from Mom and my need to preserve excess fresh food. Mom and I had a hard time passing up free apricots, tomatos, peaches, you name it.

Still hotter than you know what. Over 100 again yesterday. Supposedly mid 90s by Thursday. Sure hope so. We're going to the coast Aug 20th. I don't even care if we're fogged in and rained on!! You all have a good day. Give yourself a hug and an "Atta Girl!" or "Atta Boy!" from me. You are a unique individual who was put here to enjoy life and do good things! Get out there and live it as fully as you can.

Hey, my mom had one of those huge crocks and she made pickles and when they finished, she made kraut.  I think she also used it for something else that required letting grapes ferment. LOL.

I haev a 30 gallon crock too.  It came from my Mom and Dad.  I am fortunate that I have a lid made out of the crockery for it too.  I keep my extra flour, sugar, bread flour, brown sugar, powdered sugar, splenda, etc in it.  I live out in the country - not handy to run to the grocery store when you need something, so you learn to purchase extra especially during the winter months.
I love my crock for my "extras".

Karen,

Love your new avatar!  What a beautiful face!

Enjoy canning, maybe some day I'll have time to grow my own garden, something I always hoped to do, but once I owned my own home, I spent all my free time commuting to work to have it (lol); now I work closer to home, so we'll see about next year, you can give me tips, I think I'll start off small and learn as I go. . .

Hugs, Laureen

karen...my inlaws had a hugamungous crock and  we all made hot peppers-- green tomatoes and red cherry hot peppers in vinegar and spices  for a long time then rinsed and prepared with oil and frozen-oh gosh i loved those- the only hot pepper i could eat!!!

at work there is a Youth Works program sponsored by the Juvenile court- the kids are learning to grow and harvest and sell the produce....they have a huge garden and today did an emergency "sale" -they usually only do on thursdays- --so for $10 i got 14 ears corn/8 summer and zucchini squash/2# green beans and 8 or 9 cukes.... i love it!! soon they'll have tomoatoes and green peppers--now the bad part---we are trying to eat down our freezer and cupboards for our move-and i refuse to pay to ship canned fruits and veggies--- so i have to be careful and pass up so much this summer!!!!!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
