Hi Karen,
Take good care of your 30 gallon crock.  I saw one on-line that was $130.00 and it had a crack in it.  If you make it into a fountain, don't put a hole in it.
My mother-in-law used to make something called Mustard Pickles in a 30 gallon crock.  It was everything left at the end of the season from the garden. Baby onions, small cucumbers, peppers cut up in big chunks, cauliflower florets.  It had a creamy mustard pickle sauce in them.  Yum, we brought it out at holidays and treated it like gold because it was time consuming to make.  My mother-in-law has passed and no one knows how to do it, so it's a fond memory of her.

Bev, This old crock has brought out a lot of memories. . .It does have a crack around the bottom but it's been sealed. It will definitely be an outside addition to the patio. But I want to put it somewhere where it won't get much of the elements. Probably will make a tile or mosaic top for it.

Carla....you are still doing dishcloths? I thought you would be done by now but soon you will doing them in your sleep so what is the difference? ha ha

I hope that this Tuesday finds everyone healthy and happy today. If you can't find a positive today just remember that tomorrow is Hump Day! Maybe that will do it.

My day today is full of doctor visits. Well...2 of them anyway. I go to the I.D. doctor this morning and then a few hours later I go back to Merrillville to the pcp. I kept thinking that I went to see the pcp tomorrow but found out yesterday that it is today. Well...at least I am going to get them finished with. There is always a positive in everything...sometimes big but sometimes just a small one.

My sister and I spent the afternoon together and had a nice time. We went for lunch and visited and then we went and got her a phone...it is only going to be $12 something with the taxes and such..the same as our other line is. I go with AT&T and I really like them. She didn't get the phone that she wanted but it is nice and we kept thinking that as often as she isn't going to use it...she doesn't talk on them much...a lot like me...she went with the $5 phone which even has a camera in it so she got part of what she wanted. She wanted a flip phone but got the  bar kind. She was afraid of the buttons coming on but it is easy to lock so she didn't have a problem with it at all. I even learned a couple of things about my phone while I was there. I am just not into the cell phones..they are there because I might need one sometime and that is it.

The day seems like it is going to be nice but later on get more hot and humid. I turned the air on last night because there wasn't much breeze going on and so I thought that Bill should be able to sleep more comfortable. It is suppose to start getting hotter and more humid...of what joy that is going to be! I hate humidity...it is a killer around here too...like other places! Lake Michigan might be in our back yard but we pay for it with other things.

I guess I should get going. I am sending love and hugs to all and prayers are going up for everyone too. Have a great day and don't forget to scatter...it is in scattering we gather the good things of life.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Hey all,

The steroids are working and I'm already feeling less itchy and a little like super woman.

Carla, hope your scan shows only good things.

Today, I am doing conferences, which are easy to do because I stay in my office, the students bring their projects to me, I read them, suggests places where they can improve, and then they leave, my hours are over, and I come home.

The grands and children are gone and we are enjoying the quiet.  You know what I found as I was picking up the house, about five or six half drank cokes.  Why open a coke and drink half?  I don't get it.  I know my eleven year old grandson does that and I really watch him.  I don't mind them eating or drinking what ever they want, but I don't want them wasting food either.

Okay, I need to get in the shower and head out.  Later, I'll post about the incident at the supermarket.  My little man got all bent out of shape. LOL

Have a good day.

Not much going on with me today.  Made an awesome protein smoothie for breakfast and got my walk in with the old dog.
Nothing exciting today.  Have to pack some more boxes, but other than that....

Hi Carla and my OFF family:

Good to hear about the weight loss ... I wish I could start losing again. I want to say it's water weight, but I know it isn't. I can't seem to get it off. I will get on the bike today and do some cycling. My neighbors next door told me they do water aerobics at the senior center for $45 for 40 lessons, and then do open swim. ... sounds tempting, but I don't know if I can spare $45 most months. It sure is a good deal ... they said the senior center considers 50 to be a senior ... I thought when I checked into it, it was 55 or 60, but I could be wrong. Of course, they also give you a break if you have a disability, which my knee replacement would count for that.
Anyway, maybe if I work Labor Day and get double time, I would have extra money, I could do it after that. I would love to get back into a pool.

it's getting humid here too. It's 79 now, feels like 81, according to my Weather Channel bug, humidity at 63 percent. I can feel something coming on because I have a headache, just a dull ache at the side of my left temple.

Yesterday was a pleasant day off. I went to my psychologist (but forgot to take my camera, so no photos, sorry!), then went to see Harry Potter ... I enjoyed it, but the ending left me wondering. I haven't read the books, so don't know what's happening. I like going on Mondays ... nobody in the theater, just about 10 people, mostly adults. Walked around the mall for a bit, looked in Barnes and Noble, didn't buy anything, then came home. Talked to my brother about his trip with my mom. He said it was OK, but she's aggravating because she's going deaf and won't get a hearing aid. I think this is very dangerous if she's still driving and having problems hearing. She drove him crazy on the road reading directions because she was always two directions behind where they needed to be (she did the same to me!). But he said she appreciated him taking her there, and that's what matters.

Brenda, I wanted to call you today, but maybe this afternoon, since you're at doctors' appointments all morning.

Well, not  much else going on here. Back to work tonight. Anyway, have a good day.

What's New for Tuesday?  Tuesday??  Already?

Had my surgeon visit yesterday.  He said I would benefit from having my panni removed. However, there is a long list of surgeries scheduled ahead of me.  Guesstimate of time?  end of the year.  It is being done at Madigan Military Hospital.  Since I don't work I will be put on the list for cancellations. Surgery may be sooner ...

This has given me the incentive to become more serious about losing more weight.  Since I found out I have Hypoglycemia I've kinda stopped concentrating on weight loss and more on controlling my blood sugars.

My 3yr old grandson will be here today.  We are going to the farm to buy blueberries.  He is a car fanatic... LUVS tires.  We will get to see the tractor with the big wheels.  I think Les Swab needs to watch out for this one  LOL  competition in the making.   I took him to the John Deere dealer a few weeks ago and we walked the lot looking at tractors and big tires/wheels.  Of course we walked away with a few tractors from the toy dept. too.

I have a few other odds and ends to take care of today too.  Mostly cleaning... ugh.  I bought a flat of tomatoes yesterday and I plan on making salsa.  Nothing  like homemade salsa.

chat more later....  Millie

Ok so I wake up this morningand my phone doesnt have a screen. I didnt drop it or anything. I took it to Verizon and they said it had a stress fracture. ya right!!!!! They didnt have a replacement phone and want to charge me 50.00 told me that was a bargain cause I dont have insurance on the stupid thing. So I paid the 50.00 for the new phone and I told them I dont want the same phone and they said they had to replace it with the same phone.....Carl called customer service and didnt demand the 50.00 back.
I may just go to AT and T. Cause deep down I want a I Phone and I usually get what I want!!!!! I am a spoiled brat!!!!!
So my day has gone to H??? in a handbasket!!!!!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
