Aloha sweet friend.....and all of the rest of my OFF family.

I HAVE been MIA for awhile now. Working through some serious family problems.

Now, biggest worry is hurricane Felicia which is headed directly for Hawaii. It is a Catagory 4 hurricane and everyone is antsy about this one. Several reports say it will break up when it gets over the warm waters hear Hawaii....but yesterday it was dead on headed for the Big Island. We have had many close calls.....and we're all hoping this is another one.

Even thought I'm not posting much....I am usually reading, and hoping all of you are doing good.

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

aloha....so sorry to hear of family troubles...sending hugs and prayers for this...

i have been following felicia as well....

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Big HugKaren,
. We were rather worried about you. The last time you posted there was a comment about not feeling well. Be well, be safe.

Big hugs

Good morning Margo and George,

Were you both really up at 3 a.m. or is the time recording off?

I start my preop diet tomorrow and it seems I have a lot of instructions, although it's probably just a little overwhelming right now.  Both preop and postop instructions were gone over with me yesterday in full detail.  I'm ready!  The surgeon was very positive and said I should have no problems....I'm remaining positive.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Margo,

Ahhh, I see the time zone may be different for the forum.

I'm ready for the preop challenge.  Next weekend, within my preop period, I'm hosting a bridal shower and our company picnic will be held at our house - yikes...I'll have to drink lots of water so I'm not tempted with all of the yummy food.....the end result definitely will be worth it and I'm really looking forward to feeling better without this extra load I'm carrying.  I've NEVER been this heavy in my life!

Have a great day at work!

I know when I started my pro op diet I had less than 2 weeks since the doctor had an opening. I had 2 weekends on it and the last one was nothing but liquids....but OMG the first one!!

On Saturday night I had a birthday party at my favorite Mexican restaurant and sat there drinking my Crystal Light. I got through it without a problem.

The next day..I had a family baby shower with 4~yes 4~large tables of food. And the food was family made and just great...things I loved. I sat and ate my sf pudding and jello and my Crystal Light and got through that one too. I know that some asked what was going on with me and they just assumed that I was having a medical test. Some of course knew what was going on but some didn't.

I guess my thought is for you is...it isn't going to be as bad as you think it is going to be. Keep your eye on the prize and know that in the end you are going to be a winner. Or maybe I should say a real loser!

Good luck to you during the beginning of your journey!

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Brenda,

Well, you summed it all up perfectly - keeping my eye on the prize!  You have experienced what I am about to go through - being surrounded by food with events - but....this is life and I now must focus on the prize!!!!!  Thanks so much for posting this.  I will survive and I am DETERMINED to succeed.  Here's to seeing you on the Loser's Bench with a protein drink in hand - LOL

I hope you are healing and free of your infection by now.  You've sure been through it.  I admire your strength!

Have a great weekend.

Debbie
