Dorothy, I'm so sorry this didn't work out. You have a great attitude. I often look  back on things from a distance and realize that the disappointment I suffered was for a reason. You may just have to take a different direction to achieve your goal; doesn't mean it can't be done. Hang in there.

Thanks so much, Karen.   I always find that it does little good to dwell on disappointment.
I just need, at least for now, to focus on doing what I can without a revision....mostly just to enjoy my life and be as active and healthy as possible.   I have much to be thankful for.  I just have to think this was not the answer for me.    In a little while I will probably start searching for other options.

So sorry things didn't work out and at your expence too.  I know that Medicare pays for banding.  I don't know if they pay for it as a revision.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

Thanks.  I'll be looking into other options at some point.

Medicare pays for RNY.  I would surely check about revisions.

Good luck to you  and I agree with the others - your attitude about this is remarkable.   That's a major disappointment.  I don't necessarily believe in "fate" but I do believe that if one door closes, we just need to find the next open one.   I've surely had my share of bumps in life, and there's not much to do but to move forward.  What choice is there, really?

one thing I have not been very good at is making use of support and support groups.  The older I get, the more I realize how important friends, and even online support, can be.

Jeane,

Congratulations on starting your journey.  I have had a few bumps these last few years, and you are certainly right about not having much choice but to make the best of whatever situation we find ourselves in.

Support is what it's all about.   You are in a good place with some wonderful friends on the OFF.

Have a great day!

So sorry to hear about your paying all that money only to find you could not have what you paid for. I am afraid my attitude would not have been so positive. I admire your take on it and commiserate with you. I had heard or read as you stated that Medicare does not pay for any type of weight loss surgery.
