It's Sunday! What's New?
I've been gone for three days to San Jose. My friend and I did one of our annual scrapbook conventions. As usual, we had a wonderful time. I spent too much money, of course, but learned so many new things! We had several excellent meals and at one of the restaurants almost every waiter was absolutely gorgeous.. quite the eye candy for us old ladies.
Tomorrow is the last day of my vacation- Back To School! I think that the convention helped me get used to getting up early.
We went to a party tonight- it was fun, but I'm exhausted. Time for bed! Happy Sunday!

WHERE'S JOE??? Oh wait... apparently on Lombard Street. How could I have been so naive to not recognize the 'sign's' and latch on to that when I had a chance?? Sheesh...
Had a great weekend. Saturday started with $4... then to a Dagwood Sandwich party....for sister's birthday. Family affair... boy, what creativity. Then to a 50th Wedding Anniverysary party in a friend's mini-McMansion. I took my infamous feta covered grapes with pistachio dust. Wore my lemon drops and my feet were killing me. I've gained 3-4 lbs and I think that made the difference... well, the weather is really hot and muggy and I think it's water weight...nothing as changed in the eating department... in fact, I've been watching it and drinking more.
Today is get the house worked on a little more day.... AFTER I go to $4.
I'm in absolute awe of creative people that can scrapbook.... and especially teachers.... thank goodness teachers have creative minds to teach our youngun's. THANK A TEACHER.
Hope you all have a great day... Prayers and hugs to all that need them.
Janet
Julia,
I finished my summer class and am getting ready to turn in the grades. We don't start bac****il the end of August, but I have meetings almost daily from here until then. I sure did enjoy the break between Spring semester and Summer II. Now, I'm ready to get back to my daily grind.
Not doing much today. Just reading some works and writing.
Hope you all have a great day.

Good morning, ya'll.
Well, we have finally gotten my husband's 'stuff' moved from the old shed, to his new shed. This new shed is a 12' X 20' side lofted barn. He has his CB radios, all his tools, a computer and a TV with Direct TV in there. He says all he needs is a bed and a sign on the outside that says 'dog house' for when I get mad at him! No room for a bed though. Unless he puts in one side of the loft, but I don't think he could get up there. It does NOT have running water, but it does have AC and a fridge.
That means this morning at 6 I was moving stuff from the house to the old shed. That is now gonna be MY storage shed. A bunch of stuff from Mom and Dad's, tons of stuff I have had stuffed in closets and under beds, will now be stored out there. WHY do I keep this stuff? The only stuff I think I really need are the Christmas decorations. Anyway, that kind of stuff has to be done very early here before the heat gets too bad.
My son's 43rd birthday bar-b-q at his house yesterday was a blast. Lots of people, lots of food. Horeshoes, swimming, hammer-schloggin', Yankees baseball.
I have 4 relatives wanting genealogy info that I have been putting off, so the rest of today I will be doing that. I wish everyone had the same computer program I have, I'd just put it all on CD and mail it out. Two of these ladies don't even HAVE a computer. So I have to send hard copies of all the stuff to them. GRRRR!!
Everyone have a fantabulous day!
One of my clients has gone to Gulf Shores with a friend for a week. They actually hire a Beach Boy to move their umbrella every 30 minutes or so to keep the sun off of them. They SAY it's to keep them from getting too much sun, but I think it's because they're young college types that only enhance the beach experience....LOL. She can't fool me!
Today I'm going to a baby shower for my DIL's sister. She is 38 and this is her first baby, and she's positive she's the only person on the planet who's ever been pregnant. Not that I don't think a woman's pregnancy is special, but she has milked it for all it's worth....making Tess bring her dinner if her husband isn't home (she's very lazy, but blames it on her "condition"), swears she can't stand for more than 30 minutes(no medical reason there) and the whole thing makes both of us crazy. To top it off, she's a sorority, Junior League gal (no offense here to anyone, PLEASE) who will have all of her friends with their BMW's, big SUV's and bigger diamonds there. Can you guess I'm not looking forward to it??? The plan is for Tess to drive us and if she just can't take it then I will feign illness and we'll leave.
That's my day. Hope everyone has a wonderful one that filled with more fun and excitement than mine.
Margo, hope one of the viewers comes back with an offer SOON!
Janet, what's a Dagwood party?
Jeannie, the Hope watermelon was only OK.

i envy those of you who scrapbook--i just never got the bug and i think it's too costly for me to try now--and the idea of conventions!!! oooo i love that--and eye candy to boot! hmmmmmmmm...
i lost interest too quickly in stamping and paid a lot for a lot of "stuff" so i think i'll pass....
carolyn...i have a few relatives who do genealogy but won't share what they have and others who would love to have it but no computers--i need to get "my stuff" organized for our move--and it is not in any organized fashion!!!! ouch!!!!
janet- a dagwood party sounds like sub or hoagy sammiches?? fun to create one's own!!!!
susan....the baby shower does NOT sound fun today--do it for tess!!!!
have i told you how much i love your new picture????
jeannie- wish you had more vacation before starting school--but --you'll make it!!!!!
well- the gals showed up promptly at 4- mom, daughter and 4 year old grandson...they seemed pleased with what they saw and as they left said that they would discuss it and get back with me--just dunno!!!!!!! logistics for work and chidlcare and etc are good for them- they curently are renting a house -both have good jobs...we shall wait and see---oh i hate this part!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
we went to bed early last nite-just plain ol tired but hadn't done much of anything!!!! i think emotionally it is draining to show a house of your own--so--when we got up this morning, we sat and quietly had coffee with all three furbabies- even miss callie cat came out to the living room- it was nice! i cooke dbreakfast and now am going to perfomr the ultimate sacrifice and get dressed to go to wally's--and then home --a/c in the house...a/c in the car...a/c in wally's--the parking lot could kill me!!!!
i think while i am there i may make an eye dr appt--has anyone used walmart's docs??? i need my eyes checked and new glasses....and i am thinking there are 2 wally's on the big island so i could get glasses fixed etc if necessary????
michael starts bowel prep this afternoon for his IVP tomorrow.....should be fun around here!
i need a haircut!
hugs and prayers to all.....
I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Julia, it is so nice to see you start us off this morning. It sounds like fun scrap booking but I just don't feel the desire to do it. I have a friend that has done a book for each of her grands and is starting on her great grands. She is wanting to show me what she has done and she thought that I would like to do it. It sounds expensive to me and right now that just isn't an option. Maybe.......someday anyway.
I am not feeling to good today. My stomach is bothering me a lot and I just feel all washed out for some reason. Not sure what happened. Maybe it was because one friend asked me how I was doing and I told her that I was feeling a bit better....open mouth too soon and what do you get?
My grand niece spent the night with us last night. I love her to death but I am going to be so glad when she goes home today. I am just not use to sharing this house with an 11 year old.....boy are they something else...could I have been so bad? NO NEVER! She said jokingly! ha ha
Bill and Brittany went and took a car load of stuff to the storage. I am not sure how we got yet another car load of stuff to go somewhere after the car load that I took to Goodwill the other day. I had him take the baby stuff over since there just isn't room in here to store it. I had to get it out of here. If we need it later on we can go get it. Not a problem. It is beginning to look so much better here without all the crap that was here. Jeez....over 2 car loads of junk out of here...and I am betting that as time goes on there will be more yet to go. How in the world do I accumulate so much stuff? I am certainly a pack rat if there ever was one!
Bill is cooking hamburgers on the grill this afternoon. I have heard about them from him all morning. I am so sick of hearing about hamburgers and how he is going to make them and how he is going to fix them and how he is going to...yadda yadda yadda! I finally blew and said that I am so sick of hearing about hamburger and hamburgers I could vomit. ha ha
I did some shopping yesterday and Brittany helped me to carry them in (then Bill came out and took it all from me) and we put them away. I did pretty good. When I shop at Al's I do it when there is a sale. I try to find out how much I can save. I saved 26% yesterday. I spent $55 and got a lot of stuff. Brittany was shocked. She told me that when she went shopping with her Mom she spent almost $30 for hardly nothing. I got 6 pounds of ground round...over 2 pounds of deli meat (ham and turkey)...a bunch of cookies for Bill...and some canned stuff and veggies from the produce. I am proud of myself. I remember when Ella and I went to Eagle's early in the morning and shopped. They would double coupons and take ads from other stores. Then in the early morning they would mark down their meats that was left over from the day before. We would get them and freeze them. We did so good that most of the times we got over $100 worth of stuff and paid like $40 for it all. We would sit and compare what we did and how much we saved. Boy was that a fun time. Needless to say Eagle's stopped doing that and soon they went out of business around here anyway.
I better go...I have been going on and on for what seems like forever! I am sending love and hugs to all and prayers are being said for everyone too. Have a great day and stay hydrated....and scatter, guys! Scatter!

We celebrated our 22nd anniversary by going out to dinner. Tom had suggested a dinner cruise but the temp was only going to a high of 70 degrees. Too darned cold for me to be out on the lake.
Not much going on for me. Napping, reading and taking it easy is the plan for today.
Annette
it is suppose to get to 95 here today is 83 at 11:30 so it will probably make it for sure.
