It's Sunday! What's New?

Hi everyone
I just got up at 1:00!!! and OMG is it ever hot.  Yesterday, we had heavy rain for most of the day, which was really a God-send as we needed it.  Our weather has been cool for summer and now we are having a heat wave -  "we're having a heat wave, a tropical heat wave..."  Everything I read this morning makes me want to sing.
Unlike my American sisters, teachers up here in the great white north still have time left for our summer vacation.   I have three weeks and then return for a week of getting lose ends tied up and seeing/talking to all the others who I've not seen since May/June.  Classes start the day after Labour Day, which I believe is the 8th.  So I am still in denial that the semester will start soon and will continue to sleep in and be very lazy for three more weeks because I know that I will make up for it once the run is on!
I purchased a $2400.00 refrigerator two weeks ago from Sears.  I had to buy it quickly as mine died.  I saw yesterday that my new fridge is on sale for $2000.00; Sears will usually refund the difference if one buys clothing and it goes on sale within a month - I'm hoping that Sears will do the same for a high-end fridge.
Well, I'm off to take a shower and decide whether or not I need to go outside.  Like Margo, I'm most concerned about the parking lot at Sears - everything else is air conditioned!
Have a good day.     Margaret

Hi Julia and my OFF family:

Julia, your vacation sounds wonderful, although I have never been into scrapbooking ... but the eye candy and the meals sound great. I want one of those vacations ... maybe next year, when I'm out of bankruptcy ... unless I get laid off. There's that threat hanging over us now. I'll have to play nice and do my job and make myself invaluable. My boss tells me not to worry too much ... he doesn't think the newsroom is going to be hit, but at my age, I'd be the one to be sacked first.

I really do need a vacation ... just get away, but unfortunately, the money isn't there. I plan to take a week off in October and just sit at home and watch the baseball playoffs. I do it every year anyway. Then I'll still have a week and two days ... maybe take a week in December unless someone offers something ... and maybe try for the day after Thanksgiving so I can actually go home on Thanksgiving this year (haven't done it for a few years).

I am going to Chicago next Sunday-Monday for my brother Ed's 60th birthday ... he's the first of us to hit the big 6-0. My sister-in-law isn't doing anything big, just having family over. It's a long drive for just two days, and my body will pay for it, but I am looking forward to seeing my family again.

My body isn't feeling well at all today ... this humidity really hits it hard ... knees, back, shoulders, neck, head, everything hurts. I wanted to make my Waikiki meatballs for dinner and have everything here, but no energy, so don't think I'm going to do that. I'll do it for tomorrow and share it with my coworker Kim, who's coming over to watch Disc 2 of "The Tudors, Season 2" with me. We'll also share my second bottle of wine from the winery down I-94 that I stopped at the last time I was in Chicago. So it'll be a nice evening. She's coming over at 4 p.m.

I have no big plans for today ... I have laundry going, I have some litter boxes to clean and then I'm just going to watch baseball and read, maybe nap. I'm so tired. It's 89 degrees, feels like 96 according to my Weather Channel bug, and the humidity is 57 percent. We had some storms early yesterday, then it felt like a sauna when the sun came out later, then we had lightning late when I got home from work. More storms are expected tonight, too. No wonder I feel like ****

I started taking magnesium citrate instead of oxide ... I have to take four a day, according to the bottle. I'd hoped that this would help with my fibro, but so far, I feel worse, not better. I hope that eventually, it will have an effect.

Still bleeding from the polyp removal. This is the longest I've bled from one of these ... if I'm still bleeding tomorrow, I'll call her office (although I know she's not there ... she said she was going to be out of the office for a week). Usually, it stops after a day.

Well, I've babbled on long enough. Have a good day. Time for baseball games.
