Still dragging my azz today....this broken hip is really doing a number on me. I feel OLD...and FAT!!! I didn't realize how much my not walking has effected me both mentally and physically. Up six pounds now and climbing no matter what I eat or don't eat. I am very disappointed in myself.....UGH!!!! Enough whining.......

I had a great day yesterday. We went to visit a friend of Lisa's who's being banded today and had a million questions, then to the movie (ended up seeing Julie & Julia, which was wonderful), then to Trader Joe's & Costco. Trader Joe's is great - so many neat things to try - and the fresh fish selection at Costo was amazing. We got marlin steaks (I never had marlin before) to grill. I cooked dinner, with Lisa in charge of the grill, for Lisa, her husband, his 23-yr-old son, and LIsa's sister. After dinner we played a word game called Bananas (a first for me).
B: cottage cheese w/ blueberries, raspberries & blackberries
S: iced skinny latte
L: protein bar
S: cherries
D: grilled marlin (with a lemon marinade), grilled asparagus, tomato salad w/ feta cheese
S: Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich

I'm really enjoying seeing all your beautiful photos today and will make an effort to get mine updated soon.
Yesterday was a good day. Stayed on track with food and went to Blues in the Park with Steve. He confessed that he had gone to visit his ex on vacation but it became clear while he was there that he needs to get over it. Funny how we tend to internalize perceived rejection. Turns out that his disappearing act had absolutely nothing to do with me. Eureka! The world doesn't revolve around me. Who knew?

Yesterday I ate coffee/Kashi/yogurt. Lunch was grapes, cheese, pecans and apple.
Dinner was boar chili/cornbread/SF fudge cycle.
Today I need to get a few groceries and jump through the hoops to collect unemployment and hopefully settle the retirement issue once and for all.
Have a wonder full and wildly wacky week, CV Linda
i havent posted much cause ive been struggling with a few pounds and trying to
work out what to do. i was getting so frustrated, almost like i did before the
surgery.
well, end of last week i was reading a womens rag, as i call them and saw a "diet"
like the old special K one, where you eat cereal two meals a day and then a healthy supper.
i would have passed it by because of protein concerns, but then i noticed that it allowed
for 3 snacks a day, and these were all protein based snacks. so i said what the heck
and decided to give it a try.
so i dont know if its just paying more attention, or just eating differenlty and less, but the
scale has been moving down a little bit each day. i am feeling better about myself,
and the dry cereal ( i use the allowed milk in coffee ) seems to fill me up nicely. i have
not been fighting hunger pangs ( real or imagined) the last few days.
today im adding back a protein shake instead of one of the snacks though, cause i dont
want any protein issues down the road.
im feeling better and more positive which i needed
hugs to everyone, good thoughts for those in need

S- Watermelon
I was not able to drink as much water as I normally do and I sure feel it. I going to sleep and hope for a good day tomorrow.
