The Monday What's New Revue
Ours was pretty good. The Rangers won 2 out of 3 against the Angels. That puts me in a good mood automatically. Derek Holland pitched a heck of a game on Sunday. Only threw 12 pitches in the first two innings. Finished a complete game shutout by throwing a total of 96 pitches. His last pitch was a 96 MPH fastball to strike out Vlad.
Had my employee meeting Friday. Nothing unusual.
Saturday, I worked my part time job. Then we went to dinner with the people on the Texas Message Board. From there Mary and I went to see a friend of mine play in a band. Thoroughly enjoyed it. My friend gave us a CD of their music with 18 songs on it.
Today was Sunday School, Church, dinner with my son's family (for my son's 32nd birthday), home, watch Big Brother and work.
Would have mowed the lawn, which drastically needs it, but the mower broke. Need to get another one.
Well, what's new with you folks?
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
Saturday we had our annual Ottawa Weight Loss picnic up at Lac Phillippe. What a beautiful spot - had never been there before and loved every minute of it. Got to meet some new people and reunite with some that I haven't seen all summer. Super time..
Sunday off to church and then out to hear some live jazz - great for an afternoon.
Just placed my first order from netrition.com and now have to wait impatiently for it to come. Says about a week to where I am. So maybe next Monday???? I hope.
That's about it.

See, that didn't hurt, did it? Posting here is painless. Looking forward to more participation from you. We are all family.
I have not been on a picnic in ages. Maybe I should surprise Mary with something like that next month when it cools down. Or after baseball season. Got my priorities you know.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
Outing to Essenhaus on Saturday for breakfast was nice but it rained all the way down and back. I got a children's price for my breakfast which made me very happy. What food I ate was delicious. The rest of Saturday was a bust, I just didn't have the energy to do any cleaning.
Went to church at 5:30 Sat. evening. Yesterday I did a quick trip to our local Walmart Supercenter which they are re-configuring and I hate it....can't find anything. The rest of the day was spent inside away from the 93 deg. temps and humidity.
I have stopped taking the neurotin as of this morning - it actually makes my foot hurt worse. I am just taking extra strength tylenol. Couldn't get to sleep last nite for the foot pain, ended up taking two pain pills (narcotic) and finally got to sleep, but it was drug induced and I felt like a zombie this morning. The foot pain is getting to me.....the neurotin was making me have bad thoughts (seriously) and that's a side effect. Will talk to the foot doctor on Wednesday and if he's no help, I guess I will tough it out until the 18th when I see the surgeon.
Gotta get back to work....have a great day everyone.

Done! Your Ticker:
The problem is my foot hurts worse after I take it - believe it or not, and the mental effect is not good......that is a side effect, suicidal thoughts.....I was beginning to have those thoughts and other bad thoughts as well....that cinched the deal for me.....I haven't taken it today and my foot actually feels better just taking tylenol extra strength and my mental condition as improved as well. Lyrica was also mentioned as an alternative, but I have also heard too many bad side effects with it, so I won't even try taking it.
I too have neuropathy in my feet, in additional to the drop foot problem in the right foot caused by the damage to my sciatic nerve....so I have double trouble!!

My husband Mike's neuropathy is a result of his spinal fusion. Started the day after surgery. Several months after the back surgery he realized he was taking the pain pills for his feet not his back. Nothing much seems to help. His feet and ankles always look swollen to me. Lyrica didn't help much. I'm not sure the gabapentin does either.
May see if I can get him to try the extra strength Tylenol too. Before I had WLS I used Aleve for the swelling in my knees. That helped more than anything but can't take that now because it's an anti inflammatory.
Any kind of sleep meds do a number on me too. Really strange dreams kind of scary ones. Hang in there Pat. It will get better.
Just a thought. Cindy P from Oregon suffered from the dropped foot also. Perhaps she'll read this and have some input. I know it gave her a lot of trouble for quite some time.
