Hey Carol.  Good forum to join.  There is so much knowledge on this board your brain might go into overload.  We know from where we come.  I'm a newbie to surgery, only three weeks out, but feel great.  The best thing I've done for myself in a long long time.  I'm off insulin and bp meds already.  I had no complications and the surgery was 'text book' according to my surgeon.  You'll enjoy this OFF family and will find yourself spending too much time on the computer now. We love it.

Well Hello Carol.....You've arrived at the best forum on OH.  I am OVER 60.....In fact,I will be 67 in November.  I had RNY in November of 2008, almost 9 months ago now.  I have lost a total of  113 pounds in that time and feel 20 years younger!!  I've been told I look YEARS younger also.  ( I don't know about that haha)  but I feel great and can do just about anything I want to do and off almost all of my medications except for a thyroid med and some anxiety meds (which I have been told I will be on for the rest of my life which is no big deal).  You will find all kinds of encouragement here from some very wonderful people.  We have fun and share alot with each other.   Welcome Carol and the best of luck to you.

Hugs,
Sandy

Hi Carol...   I found this website through the help of others on the regular message board when I asked "How old is to old?".....got some wonderful answers and was told about this website.     I'm so glad to know there are others in my age range .....I'll be 68 when my surgery is done....    I am still going through medicares demands right now so it'll be a few months before my surgery but I'm glad to hear that you are getting closer to yours.     Good luck on the stress test.       I'm looking forward to making new friends on this board.       Hopefully there will be some from my area of northeast Texas too.       Tina

Hi Carol,
Welcome to the forum...........it's a nice group of folks here.
I did not have WLS but have lost a little more than 155 lbs.  We may have gone about it in different ways to lose the weight but we share many similar issues, challenges and triumphs.  I'm glad I found a group of peers I can share with......
The group here has made me feel welcome.

Looking forward to learning more about you.

Hi
Congradulation on the 155 Lbs. by doing it on your own.
going about losing the weight any way is a good way. Yes we definity have similar issues. n challenges and right, triumphs.
I have been viewing the OFF group since 004, that was when I had the lapband. after many years of major difficulty it was removed in emergency surgery. but thats another story.
