What's new Thursday?

Hi my OFF family:

I was checking for my payroll deposit. It's not there yet. Just got done watching the White Sox-Mariners game ... they went into the 14th inning before scoreless before the Mariners won 1-0. Oh well. Lots of chances for the Sox to win ... lots of good defensive plays ... good pitching. I said to myself (or the cats, whoever was listening) that when the new Sox pitcher was brought in, he was the one to lose it ... he walked two guys, then gave up a double (well, technically a single) to lose it. Knew it.

Actually saw my boss tonight at work ... he was wearing a shirt and tie and had a suit coat on his desk (he came from some downtown function). So I asked him if I could have next Tuesday off ... I told him I needed a mental health day, and then I told him why. He was understanding, then said he thought he could arrange it. Good ... I really need some time off. It'll be nice to have an extra day off once I get back from Chicago.

Anyway, it's after 2 a.m. and I should get to bed. I will get paid today and I have a refrigerator to refill, and still have to throw out all the spoiled food yet (emptied some of it, but don't want to throw out some of it until later today).

Have a good day. I'll check back later. Chat nicely.

Good morning.  I have been struggling with a slow computer tonight.  Grrrrr.

Rangers won.  5-0.  Pitcher looked real good.  Another kid.  Tommy Hunter.  We have a lot of youth in our rotation.

Eileen, I still think your team will catch the Tigers.  Logic says they won't because of the Tigers excellent pitching.  But there is something about the outfield of the White Sox that I like.

Will get home from work about 7AM, and already have my alarm set for 11 AM.  Rangers start at 11:05.  I can do that because I am only working half a shift tonight on my fulltime job.  Taking some time off before going to the circus with all 6 grandkids.

See ya later.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Good morning Eileen and OFF friends,

Today, I'm going into day #6 of preop liquid diet, and I'm down 10 pounds!  WOO HOO!  I'm so happy!  Surgery in 6 days now....

We have lots to do with the bridal shower and company picnic this weekend.  Yesterday, I got the kitchen floor cleaned, birds bathed, their cages cleaned out, top of fridge, behind fridge, and some walls wiped down.  I feel like I got so much accomplished and it smelled so fresh and clean in here....just like a spring day!  LOL

I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

hello! happy thursday!!
ugh...sorry-i'm trying to be positive today but i am really whooped...yesterday at work was very physical and add in the humidity and i really got wiped out--but i looked good in those size 12 jeans!!!!!!

went to the eye dr appt-so glad that i went but the news wasn't really what i wanted to hear--the macular degeneration has now gone into my right eye as well- i am thanking God that it is still the dry form (with wet you lose your sight) and it is scattered thruout not just in teh center -which is actually good somehow! but i also now have some cataracts--not enough to do any surgery etc but enough that it pretty much devastated me--i know- age is catching up--and my eyesight is my biggest fear to lose....picked a bigger frame- back to big glasses for me- these lil ones just aren't my style- and i went back to tortoiseshell! i love it and so i will look scholarly!!hehe!!! big gulp when i wrote the check- a week's pay plus tax for glasses but- i don't buy em everyday! and they are now paid in full...i really miss having insurance! guess i was very spoiled- first hubby had good insurance thru the steel plant- we were able to get new glasses every two years if wanted....and not much money out of pocket. eye dr recommended a stronger vitamin regime for my AMD and gave me a cool amsler grid on a key chain like you look at pictures!!!(like a kaliedescope thingy)funny thing is that i have almost accepted the AMD in my left eye-but it reminded me of the trouble that i had in accepting it ( it took about two weeks of intense thought process and praying) and now to hear cataracts and the other eye.......ok-i'm alright....or i will be.....

michael is finally signed up for PT-starts next wednesday- will go 1 day a week for 6 weeks --the atty says it's pretty sure bet that worker's comp dr will find him MMI'd next week- and then there will be a hearing- which we really can't win--so we will start moving on--financially it will be very difficult but we need to move forward....

tonight after work, roxie gets her vet visit for rabies shot and i think a few other things- and she is moving closer to our "move"...brody will be leaving soon....big sweetiebug loverdog....they were cuddled together when i got out of bed this morning!

had an inquiry about the house- nowhere to go with it- they can't get any financing- but it was an inquiry! still holding my breath and saying prayers for this "guy".......an offer would be ecstacy!!!i think right now it would be better than ******ic!!! (sorry--it's the truth!!)

well-need to get lunch packed and get self dressed and off to work...my index finger -my typing finger and mouse control finger --is starting to give me arthritic pain daily--it also has a "trigger finger " which locks--i think it's from what i do at work--gosh i really am getting old---

ok- well-
have a great day all- hugs and prayers..........

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Sorry about your eyes, Margo. You are too young to be having problems like that. I got new glasses this year and they only cost me $76 ... but we got better vision insurance (I hadn't gotten glasses for three years because our insurance was $200 for glasses but you had to buy them first and submit your receipt ... and I never had the money to put out first. This year, we have a better plan. Plus, we have an FSA, so I had put money into that. Next year, I'm putting more money into it, though, because I went through it so fast.)

Congrats on the size 12s ... I've lost some weight too ... I just wonder if the polyp was keeping some weight on me, because since it was removed (from my cervix) the weight has come off. My capris, that always fit just fine, are now a little loose.

My fingers are little arthritic lately too ... if my hands and elbows and wrists go, I'm screwed. That's my livelihood. I can handle the arthritic back and knees, but if I can't type and use a mouse, I'm in big trouble.

Morning Eileen, George, Debbie, Margo & The Rest of you OFFr's!

Hope all turns out ok Eileen.  Margo, hope the fact that you look swell in your 12s, helps you with the rest of what you've got going on and that you get a prospect for your home in a hurry, people might be more motivated if they were going to buy, as yesterday I heard that mortgage rates will be rising, slowly, but the low rates we've seen will be going bye bye.

Well I woke up at 3:30 this morning and because of some things I have on my mind, I could not go back to sleep, finally got out of bed at 4:30 and took a shower, prepared Dillinger's food for the next 7 days (I boil chicken leg quarters and put them in containers, to mix with his dry food), read e-mails, been checking out the boards and in a little while I'll figure out what to wear and then cut up some melons to bring to work for me, I just love summer fruit!  I'll drop my roommate off at work and then head to my job, after which I will go to my AA homegroup meeting tonight.
Welcome to any newcomers, congratulations on all the wow moments.

I'm trying to stay positive, but not feeling it right now, we all have days and this too shall pass. . .Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday!

Hugs, Laureen

Have A wonderful safe weekend everyone

Hey everyone,

My husbands test was done with five huge polyps removed.  His chrones was in full swing plus he had some more things going on.  Anyway, the doctor removed one polyp in almost the exact same spot where they removed in Jan.  He said it looked benign but it sure acts like cancer.  So, we now play the waiting game.  Anyway, they want him off all medicines for a few weeks while we wait for biopsy results.  Great.  Now he will start back with the increased bathroom trips, night sweats, and insatiable appetite that doesn't give him nutrition.

After his test, we ran over to my dietician's office, and I ran in for my weight.  I was so afraid that I lost the two pounds that I had gained a couple of weeks ago, that I didn't go in before my trip.  I didn't see her, but I did see her assistant and was weighed.  Good news.  I didn't lose the two pounds.  Now, I didn't gain either, but no loss.  That's good.  I hate getting weighed.

Today, I am doing some writing for the new chapter of the new book and working on my syllabi.  I am also redesigning my student's paper descriptions and their grammar book descriptions.  So, that will take the better part of next week.

Margo, I need new glasses too.  The ones that I have are lopsided from my grands grabbing them and I need stronger bifocals.  Even with our insurance, we pay for the glasses and I am not looking forward to that.  I, too, like the big glasses.

you guys have a good day
