Almost 1 month

Yikes I cannot believe it has almost been one month since my RNY.  (It will be one month on Aug 16).   I have lost 36 pounds so far - in not quite a month.  I suspect that will slow down, but I would be happy with losing a fraction of that a month.

I still have a dressing for the incision site that was infected but I am no longer on antibiotics.  That is a good thing, and hopefully my energy will increase (and bowels get back to normal).   I am taking probiotics which does seem to help.

Jeane,
Excellent weight loss for one month. The energy will increase with time. Keep on keeping on - that seems to work best.

Jean,

What great success in just one month.  I didn't realize you were so close out of surgery.  Hope your energy level returns real soon.

Congrats on the great result thus far!

Jeane, I know that I had lost about 30 pounds in the first month. The doctor told me that I would slow down and not to get use to that kind of weight loss. My bff and I leave the office and get out to the car and I tell Ella that if I lost that every month I would be to goal in no time at all. Oh how foolish! ha ha  Ella then looked at me and said "What did he just tell you about losing weight?" and I said "Oh yeah." and then told her that I could dream. ha ha   And dream is what I was doing on that one too.

Great work for the month! You are doing fantastic.

It is threads like these that make us remember the beginning times. That is something that is fun for us too. I think that most of us get unrealistic expectations in the beginning with one thing or another. But that is what makes this journey so fun for us. I guess coming back down to earth and facing reality. ha ha
