Linda, we're here to listen not to judge.  WHITE CASTLES???  Yummmmmmmm.  I haven't tried breads yet or pasta, I have had some wild rice and it didn't hurt at all.
Carbmaster yogurt for me right now.  Probably tuna later and then a protein shake and watermelon or cherries and cheddar cheese.
Debbie, you have got the right attitude girl.  You've come too far to let a little food get in your way.  Soon you'll be on the otherside and won't really care about eating for a while.  I only think about it because I have to make myself eat something.
Well, off to walk the ol dog.

Jan,

LOL - it's going to be a challenging weekend, but I'm a DETERMINED woman - I am woman, hear me roar?  ROAR - LOL

I'm getting so sick of this Bariatric Advantage meal replacement, I only had two of them yesterday, versus the four I could have.  Five more days....one is the day of surgery, so that doesn't count, one is the colon clean-out, so basically I won't feel like eating after drinking the icky stuff, so I have 3 days to make it through, Sat, Sun and Mon.  WOO HOO!  I'll see you on the Loser's Bench.  Glad you are doing so well.  Keep up the great job!  Good luck with your move too!

Debbie - your surgery is just in a few days!  Did I read that right?
How exciting and scary (It was both for me - just a month ago).

I actually gained 25 pounds before surgery, when I was supposed to lose 15.  I suppose that is my stubborness.  But since surgery I have been very serious about this and have followed protocol as much as I possibly can.  I have lost 36 pounds so far.

After surgery, you may want to consider the yummy protein drinks at Bariatric Eating.  The brands I like are Inspire and Matrix.

Jeane,

Prior to the preop diet, I gained weight too!  I guess knowing that I was going to have the surgery, I stopped eating healthy foods.  I not only felt awful, but gained weight.  Since preop, I'm down 10.8 pounds as of this morning.

Thanks for the tips of protein drinks.  I guess I'm just sick of the one I have.  I'm trying to jazz it up a bit, but it's getting old after having it for over a week.

Keep up the great work.  Thirty-six pounds is GREAT!

Debs,I don't get it,you can not have soup or milk shakes?? A helpful hint on the yucky stuff.make it icey cold, and hold your breath when you drink it.
I am both happy and proud of you. You are such a nice person,I hope I get to meet you and hug you one day.
Is someone going to post and let us know you are OK after surgery? We used to have angels, who check on your progress from a family member or such.
I have been a angel, and I do not know what I would have done without mine. She also answered all the little questions I had, from food to poop.
If you want me to be your angel, just holla.
All my support and best wishes sweetie.

Hiya Jani,I hope my food did not set off a craving for you. I will not mention it again. I am under 20 pounds of what my doctor wants. I am still eating healthy, but a few times a year I do enjoy those burgers.
I hope no one judges anyone for that is not why we are here, people may become hesitant to share honestly if the feel censored,I would hate that.
The time will come when you can enjoy different foods again, and you will be amazed at how little fills you up....smile.
I love Carb master yogurt, highest protein yogurt I have found.
Take care and have a wonderful day.

No matter if I did crave it, I wouldn't try it.  I haven't tried any breads yet because I hear bad stuff might happen, so rather than try it I'll avoid it.  Same with sugars.
I'm afraid that I won't be able to find carbmaster when I move.  I don't know if there are any Kroger stores in Traverse City.
Great day today.  Got in a lot of exercise!

Good shinning morning to you, our sweet Linda! I hope that your weekend start day is great. Just like you are.

I have no problem with Olivia either. I tend to be protective of people that I love and I hated seeing you hurting. We all have problems with our kids....that is a fact of life. I have problems with dear son and he is a step one at that. But they have a tendency to hurt just as bad if not worse at times. I am glad that Olivia and you have patched things up...you all need each other. You are a family and families are meant to be together. I am praying for you all and for the relationships too. I hope that your grands are doing well and that you are getting the time with them as well.

Now on with the other crap going on in my life..and I have my share of it let me tall ya! Bill didn't come home yesterday. I talked to the nurse and told her how he got short of breath from walking 6 steps without the oxygen. She told the doctor and so he called in a pulmonologist who ordered several tests. They all turned out well with the exception of the chest x ray. He talked to me on the phone and told me that the best thing he has ever done is to stop smoking. He has the beginnings of emphysema and so the fumes of the bleach irritated his lungs too. They also burned his airway. So he was taken out of the step down unit of ICU and put in a regular room which is great and I am wondering if he is coming home today..not sure on that yet.

I talked to the insurance woman at the corporate office yesterday after calling them. The forms got sent to Travelers for the workman's comp and Bill's supervisor took forms up to the hospital for me to fill out. His operations manager called me yesterday afternoon..just letting me remember that he is a piece of ****and he never even asked how Bill was. Yesterday's call from him was the first that I heard from him. He was pushing for the forms to be filled out yesterday and gotten to them yesterday too. I found out why...they are by federal law suppose to have the forms filled out and filed within 24 hours of the accident. That happened on Tuesday night at about 7 p.m. For every day that is past the 24 hours they are fined $50 a day. I am suppose to fax those papers in. Well, I am not able to get those forms done until Monday...oh so sad on that one too...and then his supervisor lives here in Portage so she can come and get them. I have no money coming in now so I am not able to pay to have them faxed...that simple. If they can do to us what they did then I can do the same.....it might not be Christian but God didn't intend for us to door mats either.
Food was alright...I was in a grazing mood all day for some reason. Carla told me that is is nerves from all that I am going through right now. She is probably right...we do have a tendency to revert back to old habits at times.

B: oatmeal (I think that is it...can't remember for sure) with milk
L: chicken noodle soup with crackers
D: chicken stew...and that was good
S: grapes, cantaloupe and pretzels through the day

So I didn't eat yesterday...I grazed and got through it alright I guess. Looking at it it doesn't look as bad as I thought it was. Hindsight is good sometimes.

Have a great day and know that I am sending love and hugs to you and prayers are being said for you and yours too. Know that you are loved and we are all mother hens...so we want to protect you.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Brenda, frankly you can put yourself on a every 2 hour eating schedule and it not be considered grazing,I can not eat huge portions,so on my best days,I eat 6 small meals.
Good for you for making that supervisor jump, that's his job. Now I do not know about being a good Christian,as I am not one..LOL.
Yes,I love Olivia, and our relationship has changed, and I think that is good too. I am her mother, not her friend.
I hope they do not tie up Bill's funds, they like to do crap like that to make you fold,my job tried doing that to me,but I am still going after them, because my back hurts and never did before, they violated the American Disabilities Act,and we shall see.
I am very emotional today Bren,I had to go on antibiotics because I have a chest infection.
Take care dear sister.
